Fifth Grade “SHOUT OUT/CLAP OUT!”

Dear Parents and Dover Avenue Fifth Graders,

For several years now, on the last day of school, at dismissal we have organized a “Shout Out/Clap Out” for our fifth graders. All would exit from the front doors as the rest of our school gathered outside on the lawn cheering, clapping and shouting out well wishes to them as they exit the building the last time. Since this is not possible this year….an idea to do something else has taken shape. ***Thursday, May 28 at 7:00PM ***All Dover Avenue Staff will gather IN OUR VEHICLES along 13th Street turning right onto Dover Avenue and right to 14th Street. The Dover Fight Song will be played from speakers at the front of our building. ***I will contact a few ROOM MOMS to organize the procession to gather at Crater Stadium at 6:40 PM and ask Dover Police Department to lead the procession to our school. ***Staff members will wave from their vehicles, clapping and shouting well wishes to our fifth graders! -continued-

What I will ask of families:

1. Students and other occupants of vehicles should remain in their vehicles during the entire celebration.

2. Due to crowd and social distancing limitations, this event is limited to 1 vehicle per student and 1 student per vehicle.

3. Spectators outside of vehicles are discouraged along the route...both on sidewalks as well as parking along the route so teachers may gather in those parking spots.

4. Photos should be taken at home, prior to joining the caravan. 5. ALL are asked to remain inside vehicles. 6. You may decorate your vehicles….especially with your child’s name on a

sign! We had so many GREAT activities planned for this group of fifth graders and I want to do this to help create a MEMORY for them of their year with us.

THANK YOU to our 5th Graders and their families!!!! Although our year was shortened - we enjoyed the time we had with you.

GOOD LUCK TO THE “CLASS OF 2027!”

Sincerely, Mrs. Sattler

Quinto Grado "GRITAR / APAGAR!"

Estimados padres yDover Avenue:

Sinceramente, Sra. Sattler.
