Michael L. LeFevre, MD, MSPH is the immediate past chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. He has worked for the University of Missouri for more than three decades, and currently serves as the Future of Family Medicine professor and vice chair in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
As director of clinical services for the Department of Family Medicine, he oversees eight practices that have 100,000 outpatient visits, 2,500 admissions, 5,000 nursing home visits, and more than 200 obstetric deliveries each year. He maintains an active family medicine practice.
Dr. LeFevre earned his M.D., and M.S.P.H. from the University of Missouri. Among his many honors, Dr. LeFevre was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies in 2011, and received the University of Missouri School of Medicine Medical Alumni Association 2013 Citation of Merit and the University of Missouri Alumni Association 2013 Faculty Alumni Award. He has been named to the “Best Doctors in America” list annually since 1996.
Dr. LeFevre’s research and clinical interests include family medicine, evidence-based medicine, information technology in clinical care, clinical practice guidelines, and preventive services. Dr. LeFevre has been a member of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force since January 2005 and was appointed chair of the Task Force in March 2014. He became the immediate past chair in March 2015.

H. Clifton “Clif” Knight, MD, FAAFP is senior vice president, education at the American Academy of Family Physicians. He oversees all organizational activities related to medical education and continuing medical education, including student interest in the specialty of family medicine.
Knight was a family physician in Indiana for nearly 25 years. He served as chief medical and academic officer for Community Health Network in Indianapolis, where he was responsible for patient safety, medical education, research and medical staff support. He served on the Admissions Committee for the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, which admitted its inaugural class in August 2013. Knight served in an appointed position on the Indiana Medical Education Board, which oversees state grant funding for family medicine residency programs in Indiana.
A member of the AAFP since 1984, Knight was elected to the board of directors in 2012, a position he has resigned to take on his new role. At the state level, Knight has been an active member of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians since his first year of medical school in 1984. In 2004, the Indiana AFP awarded Knight the A. Alan Fischer Award for his outstanding contributions to family medicine education. He was Indiana AFP Student of the Year in 1987.
Knight earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis. He completed his family medicine residency at Community Health Network in Indianapolis.

HPV: DON’T WAIT. VACCINATE! Increasing First Dose HPV Vaccine for TeensA PART 4 QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MOC PROJECT FOR PEDIATRICIANS AND FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICIANS
The HPV: Don’t Wait. Vaccinate! Project is sponsored by the Indiana Immunization Coalition. Physicians who participate will aim to increase their first dose HPV vaccine rate for eligible females and males ages 11-21 by 25% during a 6 month period. Participants will submit monthly data gleaned from a daily tracking log that indicates the number of eligible patients who received the HPV vaccine.
Pediatricians who complete this project will be awarded 25 Part 4 points toward their MOC. Family Medicine physicians will receive MC-FP credit for 1 Part IV module or 20 Part IV points as appropriate. The cost is $50, which includes educational materials.
This Part IV, Performance in Practice Project has been approved by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Family Medicine for physicians throughout the country.
