NEW PARISH OFFICE HOURS

In an effort to continue to reduce our costs and trim our budget, we have cut the hours of operation for our Parish Office.

Our new office hours are: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 9 am to 3:30 pm

(closed for lunch from 12:30-1 pm)

CHECK OUT OUR NEW BULLETIN AD MEMORIALS It’s not too late to place a Bulletin Ad Memorial. Check out

the back of today’s bulletin for a few of the ones that parishioners have placed so far. If you are interested in remembering a loved

one in this way, please call the Parish Office.

WANTED: BULLETIN ADVERTISERS

We are also soliciting business advertisers for the back cover of our bulletin for this upcoming fiscal year. Bulletin ads are an

inexpensive way to advertise a business. A single block (1” X 2”) costs a mere $200 for the whole year, that’s less than $4/week.

Please call the Parish Office if you or someone you know would

like to take out a bulletin ad. Our advertisers make possible our in-house bulletin publication. We truly thank them for their support

and ask that you support them in turn.

LADIES KNIGHTLY NEWS . . . PARISH COOKBOOK Our Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus are still accepting recipes for the custom cookbook they are preparing. This professionally-published cookbook will be a collection of favorite recipes from our parishioners. It will cost $10 and will be available in time for the Holidays. It is sure to become a treasured keepsake. So plan now to order multiple copies for family & friends. If you haven't’ submitted a recipe yet, you can do so in one of two ways: 1. Use the form in the back of church and follow the guidelines on it for writing out your recipe. Then simply drop your written recipe in the collection basket TODAY or give it to one of the Ladies Auxiliary members mentioned on the form.

2. Email your recipes to [email protected]

CHURCH in CENTRAL & EASTERN EUROPE COLLECTION

TODAY we will take up the Collection for the Church in Central & Eastern Europe. This collection supports Catholic

organizations that provide affordable shelter and train seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of Soviet rule.

Your donations help to restore the Church and build the future in

this region by providing pastoral care, catechesis & funding for building renovations. Please be as generous as you are able.

The Church of the Assumption in Fairport, NY, is host-

ing Biases Create Divisions ...Us vs. Them workshops on Tuesdays, July 12 and 26 at 7 p.m. in the Living Room.

Skilled workshop leader Pat Mannix and Executive Coach Frank Staropoli will help us look at some historical realities and un-

derlying dynamics in ourselves and others as we examine divi-

sive issues, ie. Muslim/Christian, People of Color/Caucasian, straight/gay. How do we as Catholics engage in

healing discourse? What creates divisions? As Catholics we reflect deeply on gospel values and want respectful discussion.

Why are issues such as the environment, poverty, racism, or immigration so hard to discuss even when we may have sound

facts?

DO YOU HAVE ONE OF OUR BAPTISMAL DVDS?

The Parish is missing multiple copies of the DVD used in preparation for Baptism entitled, “Your Baby’s Baptism”. If you

have had a child baptized within the past couple of years, would you please check around your house to see if you have

one of these DVDs? If you find one, you may return it to the

Parish Office or leave it on the table in back of any of the churches. No late fees charged; no questions asked.

SAINSBURY FUNERAL HOME Would you like to advertise on our bulletin? Then, please call the Parish Office.

Dear Parishioners,

This weekend, we welcome Father Michael Yeboah of the Archdiocese of Kumasi in Ghana,

West Africa. Visiting missionaries remind us that the family of the Church extends all over the world.

We should be grateful for what we have and be willing to share

with those in need. Sincerely, Father Gagnier

FOURTH OF JULY FLAG RAISING

AT ST. FRANCIS CHURCH

Last week, three new priests received refurbished chalices from

the Knights of Columbus:

Father Erick Viloria, Father Justin Miller, Father Jorge Ramirez were ordained for the Diocese of Rochester on June 4.

In July, 2009, when I contacted Andrea for an application for a recent

college graduate to apply for the Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Coordinator position, I never expected that Andrea would encourage me

to apply for the position. I already had a full time job and I certainly wasn’t qualified to serve as the coordinator. Next thing I knew I was

retiring from a job I had held for 27 years and heading out to unknown territory. Looking back now, I feel the Holy Spirit led me down the path

of youth ministry. The last 7 years have helped me to grow as a person as I learned more about the Catholic faith. I met new people in our

parish, the new communities where our worship sites are and throughout the Diocese. I learned how a parish operates and how I took

so many things for granted before. I experienced not one but four unbelievable National Catholic Youth Conferences (NCYC). I had a

chance to use my creative skills with children (something I’ve always enjoyed). The positive list could go on and on, but now it’s time for

ministry to end. I’ve offered personal thanks to so many individuals but I wish to thank everyone in the parish who has assisted me with my

ministry the last 7 years. Your patience and encouragement have been priceless. Thank you for all of the receptions, cards, and gifts. As I

catch up on neglected household chores, try new adventures on my own and with family members, and simply adjust to retirement, I will cherish

my memories of my days as Faith Formation Coordinator. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! See you in church!

Blessings, Sherry Brown
