SITE INSPECTION ! 'I - !

Ucon arrival at the 'landfill I was met 33" 3ruce Pluta, SiteOverseer. We parked near the Landfi11 .entrance. Air monitoringcommenced at"this time. At no time during "his sampling event didthe KnlJ detect any organic vapors. "Level C protection was useduntil organic vapor reading at the well head could be taken. Whenthese readings also ^failed to detect the presence of organicvapory, the level of: protection required on site was downgraded toleve 1 D. Air Monitoring remained in effect throughout the courseof the sampling event.

The monitoring well was purged by hand using a one liter Teflonbailer. Five well volumes of water were : evacuated prior tosampling. The purge water was collected . in a 55 gallon DOTapproved drum. The drum was capped, baited down, and left on site.The drum was supplied by Brockway Analytical.

NOTESi -

No one on site had a'key to well 10A-33. We drove to town andcontacted Canonie Environmental. After several calls it was agreedbetween Brockway, Canonie, and Bruce Plata that the lock be cut offand replaced with a new one. Canonie Environmental was to informDelta of the decision. The lock was removed and no otherincidents occurred. ! ;

It should also be noted for future sampling that there iscurrently no equipment in place to collect purge water.
