Salone Franchising Milano celebrates its 30th anniversary: established in 1985, it has become the leader in the retail distribution industry supporting small business and new ideas. It hosted the biggest Italian retail chains when they were at the very beginning of their bright future. More than 2,500 companies exposed their idea of business at the Salone and more than 600,000 visitors spread their network of contacts. Salone Franchising Milano has made the history of the franchise in Italy: in 1985 the franchising system was at the early stages of its growth and it was trying to go on a global scale; nowadays the strategy

is reversing, global franchisors always strive to enhance the local values trying to differentiate their brand. The franchising network has become truly complex and sophisticated: performance measurement, logistics, marketing plan off and on-line, brand awareness strategy, technology, control and development of the KPI are fundamental for the companies to succeed. Salone Franchising Milano has a solid background: it is one of the three most important trade shows in the world within the retail industry and the first exhibition in Italy. It offers great business opportunities for both franchisors and investors.

The Salone celebrates its anniversary hosting the trade show in a new venue: Rho Fiera Milano. Salone Franchising 2015’s visibility will be further enhanced by the timing of the event - which will overlap with the Universal Exposition only a very short distance away. The Salone that has made the history of the franchising in Italy

Salone Franchising Milano is a

professional retail exposition focused on

the innovation in the chain of commerce.

The trade is considered in a wide-ranging

meaning: franchising, e-commerce, retail,

consumer behaviours, networks, services

and technologies for the distribution,

business developments and marketing

advisory services. The Salone is organised

by RDS & Company, a management-

consulting firm, in partnership with Fiera

Milano.

The protagonists

The heart of the Salone are the

franchisors/retailers that expose their

business projects and offer to the visitors

more than 200 business ideas to invest

in. There are concrete opportunities for

investors who wish to run their own

business.

The targets

Four main targets to which the Salone

speaks to: youths and women who wish

to become entrepreneurs or look for

tailored job alternatives to meet their

family’s needs; those who are already

engaged in commerce or in franchising

and choose to develop and expand the

business; big or medium-sized investors

like companies, funds and managers

who decide to start their own business

or to capitalise before the retirement;

international retailers, companies that

are already engaged in the distribution

channels and are interested in investing

in Italian brands making them growing

through the master franchising method.

The tools

The Franchising Factory is a free

consultation service for exhibitors and

visitors, operative during the Salone with a

series of desks where many professionals

are available to both those who have

developed their own project and want

to become a franchisor and to those

who want to become franchisee. From

counsellors to experts of the retail chains

and business plans to the consultants

for internalization: everyone can access

to the FDesk and gets hints for the

development of his/her own project. The

FFactory is developed with the intention

of building a tool that supports those who

want to do business.

The Franchising School is an area

dedicated to those who visit the Salone

with the aim of approaching the

franchising world or of starting their own

business. The purpose of the FSchool

is the introduction into the field of

franchising/retail and the transmission

of knowledge. The workshops provide

basic information on the franchising

structure and the opportunities of self-

employments, elucidations on the way

to best approach the industry, including

an introduction to the related Italian law.

Admission is free and open to everybody.

The Salone is supported by a

communication campaign based on

advertisements on and off-line on the

main national newspapers and sector-

based magazines (Corriere Della Sera,

Il Sole 24 Ore, Il Giornale, Radio 24,

Millionarie, AZ Franchising), on the

partnership with many major media

(ANSA, Class and Cnbc channels, Radio

Number One) and on a constant press

office activity that generates articles and

editorials dedicated to both the event

and the visibility of the exhibitors, also

promoted through the social media.
