SILVER MEDAL MUNDUS VINI – GERMANY 2008
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Falasco Family Group comprises of two companies:
Los Haroldos S.A. and Balbo S.A., and it is wholly owned
by the Falasco Family. The entire stock capital of both
companies belongs to the Falasco Family. The firm is
characterized by four distinctive features: it is a young
enterprise, agile and dynamic company offering wines
an excellent price/quality ratio. The wineries are
located in the East of Mendoza, the main province,
with vineyards located in the key sub-regions of
Rivadavia, Maipú, Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley. The
3,000 hectares of vineyards are between parallels of
32º to 34º south with altitudes ranging from 700 to
1,250 metres.
MENDOZA REGION
Mendoza lies at the foot of the Andes mountain range
and has sandy soils irrigated with water from melting
mountain snow. There is marked thermal amplitude
between night and day, with the cooler nights ensuring
acidity and freshness in the wines. High altitude is also
a key factor, imparting character and complexity, the
extra UV light increases skin thickness improving
vibrancy and colour and the cooler nights impart a
natural acidity and allow for a longer grow-time,
producing more interesting and complex wine. The sun
which shines all year round and gentle winds come
together to generate the conditions that make it
possible to produce excellent and unique wines.
