2000 Series CNC Laser

MultiCams 2000 Series Laser machine is a versatileplatform for full sheet cutting. The machine is available in60 inch and 80 inch widths and lengths up to 240 inches.It is available in several power ranges: 100, 200, 300,400, 600 and 1000 WATT. The 2000 Series flying opticsystem is fully collimated for uniform beam quality in thenear and far field.

MultiCams 2000 Series Laser machine can cut as wellas raster engrave in a variety of materials. Rigid all-steelframe insures rigidity and structural integrity under themost demanding conditions. Digital AC brushless servos,high precision planetary gearboxes and helical rack andpinion allow the MultiCam 2000 Series laser to achievehigh speeds without sacrificing accuracy.

2000 Series Laser Standard Features

No machine offers more standard features than theMultiCam.

Welded, stress relieved and precision machinedsteel plate/box frame moving gantry constructioninsures rigidity and structural integrity. A gantryclearance of 1.875 (48mm) is standard.Lasers: Synrad Firestar 100, 200, & 400 wattconfigurations and Rofin 300 & 600 watt (watercooled) systems as well as Coherent's DIamondE-Series 400 & 1000 watt systems.The MultiCam 2000 Series Laser system comesstandard with a high end flying optics system with2.5 (63.5mm) and 5 (127mm) available opticalfocal lengths (5 is included standard).Included in the system is a red laser diode pointerto aid in the setup of the optics and for materialalignment. A beam collimator is used to insure aconsistent beam diameter thru the full range ofmotion. With the capacitive height sensing option,the Z-axis will react to material height changes onthe y while cutting. This system will work withconductive materials only.(Non-conductive materials can be cut with the addition of

an optional shoe.)

EZ Control Integrated Material Library

When you change material type or thickness manyparameters such as federate, pierce delay, pierce height,etc. all need to be adjusted. MultiCam has made thisprocess simple by integrating all of these cutting valuesinto a simple to use menu driven database on our handheld controller. The user simply selects material type andthickness, and all of the settings are adjustedautomatically.

Tabletop Options

A slat style cut bed is provided standard on the 2000Series Laser. The slats are one inch tall, 4pt steel rule on4 inch centers. Each slat has a radius on the edge tominimize flash back. The slat material provides a rigid

base and replacement material is readily available.

Fume Extraction

The MultiCam 2000 Series Laser system uses bothabove the material and below the material fumeextraction for optimum fume removal. Fume extractionabove the material is collected thru one 2 diameter hoseat the cutting head and is powered by its own 1 HPregenerative pump. This assists with collecting fumesduring initial piercing and raster engraving. The mainmaterial fume extraction collects the fumes under thecutting surface. A 16 inch port is provided at the rear ofthe table for connection to a fume extraction system.

Cut Gas Delivery System

Low-pressure compressed air delivery is standard on allsystems. A high-pressure cut gas delivery system isincluded with the capacitive cutting option.

Standard Surface Mapping

To achieve the best cut quality, it is important to keep aconsistent distance between the cutting head andmaterial. MultiCams surface mapping feature uses asensor to take height measurements in a grid pattern tocreate a 3D surface of the material. The controller thentakes the 2D file andprojects it on to the 3D surface byconverting the G-Code or HPGL job file into 3D splines.
