Ethernet: which circuit to choose?

Depends on:1. Location

2. Technical requirement

3. Required by date

4. Budget

Rule of thumb:

1. Central London/COLT area: COLT

2. Elsewhere served by Virgin on-net: Virgin

3. Elsewhere: BTW

4. Elsewhere & very price sensitive: TTB

Ethernet renewals & upgrades

Spitfire can now provide “latest pricing” on longer term contract renewals and discounts on all.

Existing Fibre Circuits can easily be upgraded, often for very little increase in cost even within contract.

Proactively contacting you to discuss contract resigns & upgrades.

Ethernet Routers

Spitfire has traditionally used Cisco for Ethernet

Very expensive for circuits above 100Mb e.g. £10k for 1Gb throughput

Juniper SRX340 now available

• 1Gb throughput capable

• NAT or no-NAT

• All QoS options

• Auto-failover options

Price, including standard data or voice configuration:

Virgin & COLT £1,600.00

BTW & TTB: £1,702.50

Router rental available on both Juniper & Cisco

Ethernet: specialist circuits

Openreach: Point to point circuits only

EAD: 100Mb, 1Gb, 10Gb

Maximum of 45km between sites

ONT: 10Gb, 40Gb, 80Gb, 100Gb

Maximum of 25km between sites

IFNL: Ethernet (& Broadband/telephone lines)

Used for specialist developments

e.g. Kings Cross

Other wholesale suppliers used occasionally for international circuits

Ethernet summary

• Wide range with highly competitive prices

• No need to scour the market

• All circuit types are Spitfire Ethernet :

1. Access to unique on-net services

2. Properly engineered QoS and back-up options

3. Best SLA in UK
