The Lebanon FFA Chapter has continued to grow throughout the years with an outstanding group of 190 members.
The chapter has con-tinued past traditions as well as start new ones to encompass more parts of agriculture.
The chapter started the summer off strong by sending a group of sophomores to the HY-MAX Academy and two more juniors to the Public Speaking Academy to get an early start on fall speeches. A group also attended Camp Rising Sun during the fi rst week
of July where four mem-bers received their State Leadership Pin. Follow-ing summer camp several members competed in the Laclede County Fair as exhibitors in various events including livestock showing, agricultural mechanics and horticul-ture. The chapter senti-nel, Renee Hudson, took home the honor of Grand Champion Steer. She also was crowned Tri-County Fair Queen and competed at the State Fair for the title of Missouri State Fair Queen. Several other members also did well in the Laclede County Fair
and other fairs around the area.
During August the chapter received an ap-preciated donation in the memory of the late Noble Hudson who always sup-ported the FFA in various ways and was greatly admired by the chapter. In early September the chapter hosted its annual Ice Cream Social where the all of the freshmen members were invited to the ag shop for ice cream and a chance to meet the offi cers and advisors. Lat-er that month the chapter put together a fl oat for the homecoming parade
to show their school spirit and support the football team.
Early in the month of October the chapter held the annual Greenhand Installation. Sixty-fi ve Greenhands were induct-ed into the chapter and 40 members received their Chapter Degree. A creed speaking contest was also help between four fresh-men who won their class competition. Shannon Jenkins won the contest and the chance to attend the National Convention in late October. The newly inducted freshmen then went on a fall leadership to Farm Fest to reward them for the hard work they did to learn the creed.
In the middle of the month the Labor Auction was help in the chapter’s shop. The Labor Auction is the chapter’s only fund-raiser and raised about $12,000 to fund the trips and activities the chapter is involved in through-out the year. The Area 10 Barnwarming, which was held in Stockton, was another event the chapter attended. While there the chapter could mingle with other chapters from Area X. The chapter ended the month and started November by sending a group of ten seniors and one freshmen to the National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The group went to several ses-sions where they learned
about leadership, the future of agriculture, and listened to motivational speakers. The group also visited the Louisville Slugger Factory, attended a rodeo and watched a concert by Scotty Mc-Creery. Past members, Chelsey DeCoursey and Brianna Jones, received their American Degrees, the highest degrees in the national program, and were honored at the convention.
Two members also competed in Fall Speak-ing Competitions at the beginning of November. Bailey Bishop won her division moving on to win districts and then received third at state. Several members also at-tended a Fall Leadership for their dedication to the chapter where they vis-ited College of the Ozarks and the Dixie Stampede. Later in the month the chapter started a new tradition for Barnwarm-ing. Instead of having traditional elections they decided to nominate four senior boys and four senior girls who would be Barnwarming Candi-dates. A money war was then held to determine the king and queen with the $700 raised going to benefi t the Lebanon Share Your Christmas program. Lindsey Mott and Tyler Kay were crowned queen and king.
In January, a group of freshmen attended
the annual Greenhand Motivational Conference held at Missouri State University in Springfi eld. The chapter is currently preparing for FFA Week, which is Feb. 22-28. It will begin with Blue and Gold day on Monday the 23rd. On Wednesday the 25th the chapter will host the Supporters BBQ after school until 7 p.m., where the chapter invites mem-bers of the community to come have dinner on them as appreciation for their support throughout the year. That Thursday, the 26th, will be truck and tractor day allowing the chapter’s members to show off their trucks and tractors while compet-ing in various categories. The week will be fi nished with a trip to Lighthouse Lanes, dinner and a visit to Bass Pro Shops after school on Friday the 27th for the weeks recreational activity.
The chapter is also preparing for spring contest season in com-petitions such as Dairy, Agricultural Business, Livestock, Forestry, and Agricultural Mechanics just to name a few. The chapter is hoping to do well in these contests and advance past districts and onto the state competi-tion. The chapter thanks the community for their support and hopes to pay it back by producing hon-est, hardworking leaders through their program.

On Sept. 29 the Leba-non FFA Chapter attended the Area 10 fundraiser held at Gunter Farms in Conway. Sixty mem-bers from the chapter met other members from Area 10 chap-ters for an evening of fun. The members also walked through a corn maze and competed in games like tug-a-war and volleyball.
Auctioneers Craten Blattel, Donnie Gibbs, Brian McKimmey, and Steve Hull take bids for a FFA member Melanie Myers. The Leba-non FFA hosted its annual Labor Auc-tion in the ag shop on Oct. 16. This is the only fund-raiser the chapter holds throughout the year and what makes the vari-ous trips they take possible. This year the chapter raised around $12,000 and is thankful for the community support they received at the event.
Brayden Keen and Aaron Murphy with their chickens at the Laclede County Fair. Several Lebanon FFA members participated in showing livestock at the county fair this past sum-mer. They showed all types of animals from chickens to steers. The members did well at the fair and learned more about agriculture through their experiences.
Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is an important part of Lebanon’s agriculture program. Students are required to keep records on projects and work experience. Pictured here, sophomore Taylor Morris prepares a cow to be milked. Morris works for Larry and Maggie Hill at Hill Dairy.

Stoutland FFA
The Stoutland FFA has been very busy this year. We have participated in several community service projects such as, Books for Buddies, Christmas for Kids, and food drives. Both these activities help local families in our community. Books for Buddies is a newly established program where the FFA partners with FCCLA to purchase a book for every elementary student. The book is then wrapped and delivered by FFA offi cers.
The FFA has also has also been involved in many fun activities this year ranging from Barnwarm-ing and Ice Cream Socials, to the Stoutland Picnic and Christmas Parades.
Stoutland FFA is proud to announce that this years participation in the Leba-non Fair nearly doubled last years. We had several members enter in the ham contest as well as the usu-ally hog and steer show.
Most recently, FFA has established a brand new
committee: Stoutland FFA Booster Club. This commit-tee is made of parents, stu-dents, community mem-bers, and businesses who want to see the FFA thrive. This group of people helps fund the FFA’s activities.
Stoutland FFA has been extremely busy this year with new and old projects. We are very excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!
Maddison BarclayStoutland FFA President
Books for Buddies is a program we started last year. The FFA and FCCLA chapters purchase books for every student grades K-6 at Stoutland. We then sign and wrap the books and give them to the students. After the students open the books our FFA offi cers sit and read the book with the students. This is a great program that promotes reading among our youth and gives the chapter a chance to give back to every student in the elementary school.
The members of Stout-land FFA are lucky to have some great supporters. We want to extend our sincere Thanks to Jerry and Nita Bechtel. They have donated a heifer for us to raffl e each year which helps us attend the National FFA Conven-tion in Louisville, Ky.

Conway FFAConway FFA has had
a year of change and excitement.
Joseph Stratton ad-vised our chapter to become more active and strive to better ourselves.
From February to April, we had six Ca-reer Development Event teams studying and working together with the hopes of competing at Missouri State FFA Convention in Colum-bia. Participating on the Livestock Evaluation team was Kevin Young, Aaron Haring and Juliet Evans. Floriculture con-sisted of Madison Evers, Sierra Evers, Allison Wilkerson and Angie Deckard, who competed on the district level. The Dairy Cattle Evaluation team was made up of Al-len Ward, Shelley Cush-ing, Terry Cushing and Harry Clanton.
The Agriculture Me-chanics team consisted of four boys, Johnathan McShane, Charlie Perry-man, Gage Naugle and RC Shockley. Ashley White, Maquel Wilson, Kirstin Miller and Caitlin Moore participated on the Horse Evaluation team.
These CDE partici-pants represented our chapter at the Southwest District CDE Event on Missouri State Univer-sity Campus in Spring-field.
Chapter members also
had the opportunity to participate in Leadership Development Events where they pushed themselves towards excellence in personal development.
Competing on the FFA
Knowledge Team was Tim Perez, Harry Clan-ton, Linsey Rogers and Juliet Evans. They placed in the top 12 in Area 10 FFA Association and ad-vanced to districts.
Juliet Evans also
competed in FFA Creed Speaking and Beginning Placement Record Book contest. Harry Clanton participated in Job Inter-view, where he created a resume and applied for a mock agriculture posi-
tion.Linsey Rogers par-
ticipated with her Begin-ning Ownership Record Book. While the contest season ended quickly it was a fun learning expe-rience that allowed our
chapter members to set focus on achieving their personal goals.
In April, 14 members attend Missouri State FFA Convention in Co-lumbia. During this trip students watched senior Bailee Whitehead receiv-er her State FFA Degree, attended sessions, lead-ership workshops, the Agriculture Career Show, and participated in many fun activities. During the Agriculture Career Show members had the oppor-tunity to meet and speak with possible future col-leges and careers.
Stratton surprised the group with a trip to Warm Springs Ranch. During the tour mem-bers were able to get a behind the scene experi-ence of the farm.
During the summer members participated in local, state and national shows with a variety of projects. Some notable recognition for their involvement in the fairs goes to: Randall Rosen-thal who exhibited the Champion Small Project in the Agriculture Me-chanics Division at the Laclede County Fairy. Linsey Rogers attended the National Junior Angus Show for the first time in addition to show-ing her Angus heifer at the Missouri State Fair and several local and county fairs.

Juliet Evans showed her commercial heifer, as well as her gilts and market barrows at the Ozark Empire Fair and Gala and the Missouri State Fair. The success our members experi-enced during the fair season have created an excitement about plans for this next summer!
Also this past summer, officers had the opportu-nity to attend to separate leadership conferences. Through these events, our officers have helped create the newly formed Conway FFA Commu-nity Group to increase involvement from our community members. Building this cooperation will benefit not only our members, but also our community as a whole.
Officers represented our chapter at the Na-tional FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky. Dur-ing the convention they attended several sessions where they listened to motivational speakers and networked with FFA members from across the United States, attended a concert and rodeo, and toured Louisville Slug-ger.
Throughout this year our chapter has had several fundraisers to pay for members to participate in local, area,
district, state and na-tional activities. We are extremely grateful to the overwhelming support we have received from the Conway community. As we head into this next year of continued growth we are excited about the potential for more student successes!! Thank you to everyone who helps us along the way!
