Welcome to Digital Shoreditch 2013!

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. The truth is, action is what drives our growth and that’s achieved through belief in our abilities, hard work and inspiration. What better way to be inspired, than to surround ourselves with some of the most successful and innovative individuals. This year we have over 500 such presenters. We also have over 70 community events as well as over 20 interactive exhibits, and everything is crowdsourced.

So, in this 3rd year, our biggest yet, we are striking out and launching the world's largest startup competition, where one company, gets a million pounds in equity investment for their business.

But, there’s still so much more we can do as a community. Our vision is to help our vibrant community shine, like a sign visible from the moon that tells the world : if you are looking for the very best creatives, technologists, designers, makers and doers - those with the craft to bend digital technologies into ever more persuasive means of engagement, and those who dream and create the technologies that drive us into the future - then there is no better place than London.

What you’ll find in the two weeks are thousands of amazing people. Sharing their knowledge and achievements with thousands of ever more incredible individuals who are switched on, understand the digital world around us and are enlightened enough to make their mark stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Our central tenent at Digital Shoreditch is to represent the whole community - to help us better get to know each other - to tear down the walls, the brick and mortar that lines our streets, to reveal the people inside and to help us build meaningful connections, so that together we can create the most awesome future none of us by ourselves would be able to imagine.

Hope you have a great time, meet lots of super cool people and blow your mind with inspiration :)

DAY FORMAT

Interaction

You’ll see that each day has a very full agenda of speakers. That won’t mean death by powerpoint. It does mean that some speakers will give a short taster of ideas earlier in the day so you can choose who to sit down with for a more in depth discussion.

Matchmaking

You might lock eyes with your ideal (business) partner within seconds of entering the room. But just in case that doesn’t happen there will be helping hands. Once you register you can use the festival app to connect with any of the participants based on mutual interests. Our social theme for this year is 'making meaningful connections' so expect plenty of activity on making this happen

Networking

We make sure that there is time each day for structured and unstructured networking, in 1-1s and small groups. Digital Shoreditch is all about building fruitful relationships. You will find new friends, collaborators and clients, not just a bunch of handouts and business cards.

DigitalShoreditch.comThe best source for the latest official DS2013 news is the site. Check out what’s happening on each of the days and discover who is attending.

Twitter #ds13Use our official hashtag while at the event. Get the word out about whats happening at DS2013 about sessions, workshops and parties.

Tech City supports and catalyses the development of businesses at every stage – we’re excited to be sponsoring this year’s festival and involved with the huge numbers of innovative organisations taking part.

On day one – What Tech City? – come hear our deputy CEO Ben Southworth explain how Tech City is the nucleus for a broader entrepreneurial movement. Or grab a team member to hear more about initiatives such as Future Fifty – a red carpet programme for high-growth companies to access the necessary support to accelerate their growth.

We’ve also got the latest in masterclass events for budding entrepreneurs (visit events.ldn.io) and can explain what PR support we offer.
