Project Goals1. Provide larger gym than the
current physical activity space and a new stage which will serve the entire school and community events.
2. Provide permanent enclosed connection between school and playground.
3. Add more storage space for gym, stage and school.
4. Fit new gym addition design within the existing context.

04 Construction Impacts
Impacts during construction
• The school and playground will remain open while school is in session.
Safety fences will be put in place for the duration of construction to keep
the students and staff safe and separate from construction activity.
• New alternatives for the parent drop-off / pick-up loop are being explored
together with ACPS and the city to determine the best options.
• New alternatives for the deliveries and dumpster access are being
explored together with ACPS and the city to determine the best options.
• General Contractor will work closely with school to coordinate activities to
support school operations.

• Next Community Meeting – coming late winter/early spring 2020
• Design completed and submitted to City for Building Permit – February, 2020
• Construction begins – Summer, 2020
