Spring 2019 Fenton Free Family News follow us on Facebook: Fenton Free Library or on our website: libraries.4cls.org/fenton/ DIRECTOR’S CORNER Happy Spring! Here at the Fenton Free Library we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the greening and blooming of our universe. As we prepare for this year’s summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” we look back on all the fun programs we hope you shared with us this past year. Maybe your family joined our Christmas tree lighting and Santa visit, or our holiday caroling to elderly shut-ins within the community, or the Easter egg hunt, the twice-weekly story hours on Wednesday and Saturday, kid’s yoga with Miss Ann from the Dance Connection, six-week STEAM program for kids, Lego club, and countless more fun family programs. For our adult community members we have active bridge clubs, BUNCO nights, Pinterest nights, the Book It walking club, and a monthly book club just to name a few. As you can see, we want to be part of your family for many reasons, we want you to think of the Fenton Free Library as your community space. We’ve grown immensely in the past several years! As a matter of fact, we are bursting at the seams -- offering our large programs outside to accommodate hundreds of participants. In order to continue to be the heart of the community, we are evaluating the feasibility of adding a community room onto the library. If we meet our donation and grant targets, we will be able to move forward with an exciting building addition that could support larger library programs and many of the community groups that regularly meet at the library throughout the year. We hope all the exciting news out of the library will encourage you to stop by and participate in the programs being offered, especially our upcoming Fenton Free Library 5k run/walk and Kid’s Dash on June 1 st . While you are here, sign out books and movies for your home reading and viewing, or even just drop by to say ‘hello.’ Happy Spring, hope to see you soon.
