#1 Goldfish bring good luck in Feng Shui. Placing goldfish inside the home or office aquarium will activate good luck. Keep nine fish- eightred or golden and one black. When one dies, replace with a new one. The most auspicious place for the aquarium is in the living room of ahome and the front entrance of an office. Never place aquarium in your bedroom.

#2 Bring good luck and wealth with a tabletop fountain on your desk, living room, kitchen or in the front entrance. Placing a fountain inthese locations attracts wealth and good luck. Keep the water and the fountain clean. This feature will also be good for your health.

#3 Keep your front door attractive and conspicuous. It should not be hidden. Front door can enhance your health & wealth if properlymodified. The door should be free from any deformity. It must not make a creaking sound.

#4 Keep your house, office or work place free from clutter. This will enhance prosperity: Clutter or junk anywhere can cause problems withrespect to the area it is present in which can be wealth, career, health, knowledge etc. Clutter casts several bad effects. So get rid of it. Keepthing in your room you really require.

#5 In your bedroom, keep the headboard against the wall which gives you a clear view of the door. Your head should not point towards

bedroom door or toilet When sleeping, your head must not be placed directly under a a wind ow and below a beam. This will save you fromtensions and hurdles.

#6 Keep houseplants in your home, office etc. This will promote prosperity and harmony.: Houseplants promote good energy by releasingoxygen into the air. Do not plant plants with sharp or pointed leaves or thorns. Avoid cactus and the like plants. Do not keep withered,diseased or dying plants.

#7 You can hang small bells on the outside of your main door of your home or office to bring good luck. The bells should be tied togetherwith a red thread or ribbon, as this activates good luck.

#8 Do not use mirrors (especially big ones) in the bedroom. They can spoil relationships with your dear ones.

#9 Hang three I-Ching coins with a red thread on the door handle inside the main door of your home or office. This will attract wealth. Youcan also keep them in your walet for better results.

#10 South East is the universal wealth corner. Energise it by placing a leafy green plant or a bubbling aquarium there. This should be donein living room only. Doing so in bed-room, toilet or dining room will be harmful.

#11 Keep brooms and mops, dusting cloth etc. out of sight. These must not be visible when you enter your home, bedroom, living room,

kitchen etc.

#12 Avoid keeping TV in your bedroom. If you do, then it should not face the bed. You should keep it covered when not in use.

#13 Do not use cracked glass, chipped crockery and utensils.

#14 Hang a Pa Kua mirror outside your front door. This will deflect secret bad energy which is generated by some pole, transformer etc.immediately in front of your house, or long lines of buildings in front and roads pointing towards your door.

All of us have heard and practiced so much from Feng Shui and proclaim how effective it is in improving our lives. So much that one getsthe impression that it is the only gateway to increase a person's luck. There are other ways like through astrology, occult and a few otherIndian and oriental practices. But it can be boldly said now that Feng Shui correction is one quick way to heighten our personal luck. Did wenot hear from our grandparents that we draw our luck from the places we live and work all through the day and night? Here are twelve easyways to do just that ... (In India, we call it Vastu)

1. The entrance door to your apartment / house is probably the most important according to Feng Shui. For it is through here that thepositive energy and luck enters through the house. An obstruction both inside and outside from the front door can result in bad luck for theinmates. And it is better that the front door should lead directly to a spacious and well-lit room. It should not face a pillar or a shoe-shelf.Correct by removing the shoe rack or even shift the door.

2. Do not erect a mirror right opposite the front door. The positive energy (Chi in Feng Shui) that enters is reflected back by the mirror andescapes through the door!

3. Avoid sleeping in front of the door. According to Feng Shui, when a man's feet faces the door directly, it is considered as a dying position.In fact, this is the position for dead bodies to be placed. So please place the bed either to the right or to the left of the door.

4. Keep a bowl of fresh salt in the toilets. Toilets by their very nature are a source of negative energy wherever they are located. Hence it isadvisable to keep a bowl of unrefined salt on the window sill of the toilet. It is said that the salt will absorb the negative energy. Also do notforget to replace the wet salt with fresh dry salt every so often.

5. Do not hang date calendars either in front or back of the front door. It is said that they affect the longevity of the inmates and is symbolicof telling you how many days are left remaining in your life!

6. Do not sit facing a blank wall. Today most managers in corporate houses sit facing a blank wall with their computer screens in front of

them. This is not good according to Feng Shui as it affects their thinking.

7. Do not place mirrors in the bedroom. Mirrors facing the bed can cause disturbances in the marital relationship between husband andwife. As it is bad Feng Shui it sometime s brings a third person in the otherwise healthy marriage !

8. Couples should never sleep in a double bed with two separate mattresses. This is because sleeping in separate mattresses can lead toseparation !

9. Keep a laughing Buddha on a mantle or shelf facing directly the front door. The positive energy that enters through the main door iswelcomed by the laughing Buddha and gets activated. The laughing Buddha is available at all leading shops and stores selling Feng Shuiitems.

10. Keep three old chinese coins in the cash box in your house. According to Feng Shui, displaying old chinese coins is a very effective wayfor increasing wealth and prosperity. These three coins are generally tied together through the common hole running through the center. Itis also available in most shops selling Feng Shui items.

11. Keep all brooms and mops hidden. They symbolize the cleaning away of negative energies that enter the room. When they are exposedthey are considered inauspicious. It is also said that if you place a broom outside the main door of your house in the upside down position,it gives protection against intruders. Do this only during the night. Keep it hidden inside the house during the day.

12. According to chinese Feng Shui, ducks are symbolic of love and romance in young couples. These ducks are best placed in the south-west corner of the bedroom since the "south-west" is the area forrelationshipsand romance. If you are single and longing for a love mateyou could do well by hanging a painting of these ducks in your bedroom. But please note that you have a pair and not one or three. Oneimplies that you will continue to remain single ! Three could indicate that there could be a third person in the relationship !

These twelve tips from Feng Shui (Vastu) are easy to carry out for even a lay person who wants to solve the minor problems of his life.
