INTRODUCTION This technology was developed by Mr.Ramesh Raskar and his team at
the MIT photography lab . The main purpose of developing these technology is to increase the
frame capacity “By having the Trillion FRAMES per second.” Where the present pico photography is able is produce only
1million frames per second.

What is femto photography ?
o Femto photography is the advanced technology of the pico photography
o It is a new imaging technology which can create a light in a motion
o Femto photography can visualizes the world around one trillion frames per second

PRINCIPLE BEHIND THE TECHNOLOGY
A packet of photons are released which travels around with the speed of the light (Million times faster than ordinary bullet)
The motion/scattering of the packet can shows the light in motion
Each reflected photons reach the camera at different times (each photon frame can forms a individual raw frame)
These frames combine to develop the replica of image

STREAK CAMERA
Streak Cameras are high resolution cameras.A streak camera is an instrument used for measuring the
variation in a pulse of light's intensity with time.It is actually an array of 500 or more sensors each of them
triggering at trillionth of a second.They are used to measure the pulse duration of some
ultrafast laser systems and for applications such as time-resolved spectroscopy and LIDAR.
The one used in Femto-Photography is Hamamatsu Streak Camera Model C5680.
• This photo was taken by Dr. Harold E. Edgerton in 1964.• The duration
of the flash in this photo is about 1/3 microseconds.

• We can NOT capture the arbitrary event at pico second time revolution
• This technology can easy to miss use by any one• The work with the photons may create some health problems

CONCLUSION
Finally I conclude that FEMTO is new photographic technology which can captures nearly one trillion frames per second which works with the help of packet of photons and we can illustrate the object with the help of reflected photons
