Timeline of Female Assassins Trend

Kill Bill was about a female assassin who tracked down the people who killed her to take her revenge. She was strong, skilled and ruthless.

Kill Bill (2003)

Kick-Ass (2010)Hit Girl was an eleven year old assassin in the movie Kick-Ass, who killed in the guise of a superhero. She was controversial due to her young age. However she was shown as very skilled, killing skilled mob bosses years older than her.

Salt (2010)

Village Voice's Karina Longworth considered that original star Tom Cruise would never express the protagonist's ambiguity as well as Jolie-Wikipedia

Another, strong and resourceful female assassin was Salt played by Angelina Jolie. Similarly to our assassin Salt has to clear her name on her own. Interestingly the role was originally to be given to Tom Cruise.

Columbiana (2011)Columbiana is another revenge film with a lead female assassin. Her action scenes were the best bits according to critics:

Hanna (2011)

Hanna goes against her image as a sweet young girl by being a highly skilled young assassin trained by an ex-CIA agent.

Haywire (2012)The female assassin trend shows no signs of slowing down with recent independent film Haywire gaining positive critical reception and making a profit at the box office.

All these films have been financial successes and popular with audiences. Female Assassin films are therefore very popular at the moment which means our film would be likely to be successful.
