These little felt gift bags are so quick and easy to create and are perfect for small precious gifts. They are great for keeping your own little treasures safe and sound too.

You will need:

• One piece of felt measuring 12 x 4 inches in a colour of your choice.• Matching embroidery floss.• Your choice of colourful buttons or beads.• Matching cotton thread.• Pinking shears.• Ribbon in a colour of your choice.• Pins, needle and scissors.

So let's get sewing …........

1. Take your piece of felt and trim along the short edges with pinking shears to make ajagged edge.

2. With cotton thread, sew on a few colourful buttons or beads of your choice to decorate.

3. Flip over your felt so that the buttons/beads are underneath. Fold your felt in half so that the two short edges meet and pin together. Sew along the two long sides using blanket stitch with two strands of matching embroidery floss.

4. Now you can fill your bag with gifts or treats.

5. Finally, tie a piece of ribbon into a bow around the top of your bag, trimming the ends to your desired length.

You can also make bags using gorgeous patterned felt like this one:

Tip: If you would like your bag to be a little thicker, you can do this by using a second piece of felt in a contrasting colour as a lining. Place your lining piece of felt underneath the decorated top piece and blanket stitch the two short edges together before folding. Continue with steps 3 – 5.
