Optional Charges

Student Accident InsuranceStudent accident insurance is required for all students not covered under a health insurance plan. The School offers student accident insurance for a flat fee of $28, to defray medical costs due to injury, on or off campus, during the course of the school year. Families may waive the school-provided accident insurance with proof of comparable coverage.

School Bus TransportationBus service may be available for an additional fee to certain areas of the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities. Interest should be indicated at the time of enrollment. A minimum ridership per route is required.

LunchThe School dining hall offers a hot lunch, salad bar, baked potato bar, and milk or a variety of juice drinks. A full daily lunch costs approximately $5, with à la carte items priced individually.

Extracurricular ProgramsThe School and the Carter Athletic Center offer after-school programs in interscholastic athletics, music, and swimming. Some programs require additional fees, which vary.

Extended Day ProgramsNorth Cross School offers an Extended Day Program for students in the Early Childhood Program through eighth grade. The program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. It is not an extension of the academic program but offers enrichment opportunities for younger children and supervised study periods for older children. Holiday Care is available during some school holidays and vacations for students in the Early Childhood Program through fifth grade, providing that a minimum registration is met. Students not picked up promptly by 6 p.m. will be charged $20 per quarter hour or fraction thereof. Teachers and staff will remain with students until parents arrive.

Tuition Payment PlansPlan Billing

Under all payment plans, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required at the time of enrollment. A student’s enrollment is contingent upon completion of their current grade in good standing. The obligation to pay full tuition and fees begins July 1, 2012, regardless of withdrawal or absence for any reason.

Tuition Refund PlanThe Tuition Refund Plan insures your annual financial obligation under the terms of the Enrollment Agreement. The School recommends that all parents consider it carefully. Participation in the Tuition Refund Plan is required for all new students and any returning student who is not in good standing at the time of re-enrollment. The premium rate of 2.75% of tuition will be billed.

Additional ExpensesDuring the course of the school year, there are additional expenses that depend on the student’s grade level and chosen courses. These expenses are for items not included in tuition, many of which are included in the following additional fees. Items excluded will be billed directly to student accounts as incurred.
