A2 Production – Feedback Sheet for Areas to Improve

Name: Niamh, Hyleana and Rae

Really strong music video and great performance from Niamh. Don’t focus too much on the amount of suggested changes – it has nothing to do with the quality but more the fact that you have got a long-ish song and there’s loads going on in your video.

Video

1. 0.22 bit of a change in colour (lens auto-focusing), might be worth trying the sharpen effect and a bit of colour correction

2. 0.40 do you have more shots of H & A? If so, perhaps layer them so it looks like they’re having fun for a long time whilst Niamh is necking the vino

3. 0.58 think you could heighten the impact of this good sequence through the use of some kind of quick glitch /flash effect to go with the movement

4. On puke shots, perhaps use a bit of ghosting or camera blur to give a sense of her dizziness…make the viewer feel a bit drunk.

5. 1.22 bit more colour correction/saturation o there. These are the happy shots but obviously it’s January. 1.40 seems a bit more colourful

6. There’s a certain bit on the chorus (the beat/sound around 2.17) where I think it needs a temporal effect repeated at certain times. I’ll explain what I mean by this.

7. Split up shots around 2.24 are a bit grainy – maybe we’ll have a look at whether the sharpen effect can help here.

8. 2.31 - I think the Alex finding the flag shot is a bit too long. Could perhaps be intercut with some other shots maybe of N and R or of N lip-synching

9. 2.33 – Again a bit of colour correction needed

10. 2.53 – perhaps play with the shadows and brightness. Make it a bit more moody.

11. Beach scene around 3.15 is perhaps a bit too long, maybe intercut with some happy N cutaways…she’s found peace with herself etc.

12. 3.29 – those fast cuts are just a little bit out of sync with the music

13. 3.38 – Make Alex shots a bit darker. He’s suffering y’know

Is the last shot meant to be happy or sad or…? Not sure if you need to make that a bit clearer.

Thanks,

Mr C Welch
