The 2019 Layer Feed Quality conferences will be held in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta in 2019 – this is as a response from the industry to have varying locations, so please support us!

The 2019 Layer Feed Quality Conference topics have been carefully selected from feedback from more than 300 participants

in Bangkok and Jakarta in 2018. With cooperation from our sponsors and leaders in layer production around the world, we have assembling a strong group of local and international experts who will not only present but also be part of the highly popular panel discussions, as well as a ‘meet the speaker’ forum at the end of day one.

There will be three key sessions in the 2019 Layer Feed Quality Conference:

• Flock Longevity – Part 2; transition to early lay – chaired by Dr Santiago Ramirez, AustraliaFlock longevity will determine the overall economic returns to a producer. Critical management steps in the progress of the flock will be addressed in this program over a three-year period.

• Feed ingredient options & diet optimisation – trends & tips Based on the previous year’s participant feedback, this session will explore key areas such as: feed ingredient and additive options as we move towards AGP-free production, strategic use of NSP enzymes on top of high dose phytase, breeder recommendations in tropical egg production, and practical message from a practising layer nutritionist

• Nutrition and Health – got the guts?In this session we have a University Professor from North America, a technical expert from a leading layer breeder company, a practical layer nutritionist and research exploring alternative feed ingredients for layers.

Plus a Horizon Keynote address ‘Animal welfare certification and the food industry: How will this impact your business’ delivered by Luiz Mazzon, Director Asia, Humane Farm Animal Care; President, Instituto Certified Humane, Brazil.

Each year, a topic will be selected that informs participants of an innovation that is ‘on the horizon’. In 2019 we will hear how local egg producers have adopted animal welfare certification and the impact it is having on their business.

Doug Korver Professor of Poultry Nutrition, Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Sciences, University of Alberta, CanadaDr Korver received a PhD from the University of California, Davis. Professor Korver’s research program has a strong applied research focus; relevance to the poultry industry remains an important consideration in his approach to research. In addition to practical research on feedstuff quality and dietary supplement evaluation in poultry diets, his work focuses on nutrition-immune function interactions and bone biology in meat and egg-type poultry.

Chris Domil O CobachaAnimal Nutrition Specialist, CDC Nutrition, PhilippinesMr Cobacha is a graduate from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños with a degree of BS Agriculture, Major in Animal Science, specialized in Nutrition. He worked in San Miguel Foods Inc for six years before going into private practice. Currently, he is a freelance animal nutrition consultant of various farms and feedmills in the Philippines. He has been invited as a resource speaker in various technical conference both locally and abroad. He also conducts

technical, feed formulation and sales trainings for various companies in the Philippines.

Santiago RamirezCo-founder Barnhealth, Australia, and Regional Marketing Manager, DSM Nutritional Products, SingaporeDr Ramirez is a monogastric nutritionist. In 2014 he helped establish Barnhealth, a web-based resource providing knowledge and information interfaces that support the identification of issues that affect flock performance. Prior to joining DSM last year, he ran an independent consultancy servicing clients in Australia, Asia Pacific and Latin America, offering technical troubleshooting services to a variety of feed mills and producers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Nutrition, a Master’s in Molecular Biology, and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology. Mr Ramirez will again chair the session on flock longevity. This 3-part program started with a review of the pullet in 2018, will cover the transition to and early lay stages this year and the mid to late lay stages in 2020.

Robert PottgueterNutritionist Expert – Lohmann Tierzucht GmbH, GermanyMr Pottgueter has a Diplom- Ingenieur- Agrar from the Georg August Universität Göttingen, Germany. His extensive professional experience includes 24 years with Deuka Deutsche Tiernahrung GmbH & Co KG, Düsseldorf, Germany, as product manager poultry feed. In April 2006 he joined Lohmann Tierzucht GmbH as Nutritionist Expert, where he is responsible for global nutritional technical service and the company-owned feed mill near Cuxhaven in Germany. His key interests include poultry nutrition, specialising in layers, complete feed production, feed optimisation and quality management systems in the feed industry.

Luiz MazzonDirector Asia, Humane Farm Animal Care; President, Instituto Certified Humane, BrazilMr Mazzon was born in Southern Brazil and is graduated in Law and Business. He has worked as business consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Accenture in Brazil, as trade officer at the Brazilian Embassy in Jakarta and as Area Manager for Latin America at Campari International. In 2010 he joined the Brazilian office of the French organic certification body Ecocert as General Manager and in 2016 has

founded Instituto Certified Humane, an NGO that represents the American non-profit Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) in Latin America and more recently South and Southeast Asia. Today more than 5000 farms and companies are certified through this program in 15 countries, including the USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Argentina, Colombia and Jordan.

Elisa FolegattiMarketing Manager Carotenoids, Hy-D and Layer Specialist, DSM Nutritional Products, ItalyDr Folegatti studied at the University of Bologna where she also worked in the the Department of Food Science studying the effects of farm environmental conditions on broilers welfare, carcass and meat quality as well as the egg quality of laying hens according to their farm systems rearing. Her PhD studied the effect of rearing techniques and feed composition on productive traits, bird welfare and quality of poultry products. She has been co-author of many influential papers including ‘Egg quality traits of laying hens reared in organic and conventional systems.’

PAYMENT: Payment is due in full at the time of registration if paying by credit card or within two weeks if paying by invoice. Registrants who have not made full, and on time payment, will be declined entry to the event.
