How to Install Microsoft SQL Express 2014, SmartMsg Server, and CenterPoint

Step 1: Visit Programs and Features under the PC Control Panel to make sure Microsoft SQL Express 2014 is not already installed. YOU DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL OVER AN EXISTING DATABASE.

Step 2: Visit http://codespear.com/Smartmsg.aspx to download and extract the setup file.

Step 3: Open sql2014.zip.

Step 4: Extract the zipped folder.

Step 5: Open sql2014 folder.

Step 6: Open SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.

Step 7: Run SETUP.EXE.

Step 8: Select New SQL Server stand-alone installation

Step 9: Accept the license terms and select Next.

Step 10: Check “Use Microsoft Update to check for updates”.

Step 11: Select Next.

Step 12: Select Next.

Step 13: Select Next.

Step 14: Select Mixed Mode and use Password “Passw0rd1”. Select Next.

Step 15: Installation is complete. Make sure the features have succeeded.

Step 16: Make sure FS SmartMsg Server (SQLX) is not installed under Programs and Features in Control Panel. YOU DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL OVER AN EXISTING DATABASE.

Step 17: Download SmartMsg Server from http://codespear.com/Smartmsg.aspx.

Step 18: Open FS_SmartMsg_Server(SQLX).zip.

Step 19: Extract all for FS SmartMsg Server(SQLX).exe.

Step 20: Open FS_SmartMsg_Server(SQLX).

Step 21: Run FS SmartMsg Server(SQLX).exe.

Step 22: Select Next.

Step 23: Accept the license terms and select Next.

Step 24: Select Next.

Step 25: Select SQL Server Authentication. Set the Login ID and Password. Select Next.

Login ID = saPassword = Passw0rd1

Step 26: For mixed mode authentication, enter the following connection string. Server=localhost\SQLEXPRESS;Database=SmartMsg;Trusted_Connection=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;

Step 27: Complete for setup type and select Next.

Step 28: Select Install.

Step 29: Select Yes.

Step 30: Open FS SmartMsg Server(SQLX)’s original setup.exe.

Step 31: SmartMsg Server successfully installed. Select Finish.

Step 32: Make sure FS CenterPoint is not already installed in Programs and Features under Control Panel. Visit http://codespear.com/Smartmsg.aspx and download CenterPoint.

Step 33: Extract FS CenterPoint.exe.

Step 34: Run FS CenterPoint.exe.

Step 35: Select Next.

Step 36: Accept the license agreement and select Next.

Step 37: Select Next.

Step 38: Select Complete and Next.

Step 39: Select Install.

Step 40: Select Finish.
