Model 154XST
Federal Signal’s Model 154XST hazardous location strobe lightprovides 80 high-intensity flashes per minute. This warning lightis available in 24VDC with a 4-wire supervisable power circuit forfire alarm and suppression supervised control panels.
The Model 154XST strobe light is UL and cUL Listed and CSACertified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II,Division 1, Groups E, F and G; and Class III.
The 154XST meets Type 4X water-tight, dust-tight, and corrosion-resistant requirements; constructed to IP66. This hazardous location warning light has an aluminum base, coated for corrosion-resistance that is ready for mounting on a 3/4-inch pipe. The DomeGuard (included) fits over the glass dome to protect it againstaccidental collision with moving equipment, such as forklifts.The 154XST contains a diode and four wire leads for use in firealarm applications.
The 154XST has an effective candela (ECP) of 165 and a 520,000peak candela. It is available in six dome colors, including amber,blue, clear, green and red (magenta upon request).
Federal Signal’s rugged 154XST strobe warning light is specificallydesigned for hazardous locations or corrosive environmentswhere a very bright visual signal is required. This warning lightcan be used for plant evacuation or other communication needs.

The Model 224XST has been certified by UL as meeting Type 4Xwatertight and corrosion resistant requirements, constructed toIP66. This hazardous location warning light has a blackpolyurethane coated base and the inner fresnel lens is available insix colors (including magenta). The clear polycarbonate outerdome can be quickly removed for easy access to inspect the unitor change the lamp. The 224XST has an effective candela of 240and a 580,000 peak candela.

The 27XST is UL Listed for Class I, Division 1, Groups C & D;Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F & G; Class I, Division 2, GroupsA, B; and Class III. The 27XST is CSA Certified and Marine Rated.
The 24VDC 27XST features a voltage in-rush limiting PCB designthat provides greater compatibility with factory automation control systems and less electrical interference with in-rush sensitive devices. It’s diode polarized power circuit also makes itideal for fire alarm and suppression supervised control panels.
The 27XST is Type 4X rated; constructed to IP66. Corrosionresistance is achieved with a powder epoxy finish applied over thecopper-free aluminum housing. All exposed hardware is 316grade stainless steel.
Federal Signal’s Model 27XST has an effective candela (ECP) of850 and a two million peak candela. A pendant mount is suppliedand a ceiling mount and 90° wall mount are available options. Foreasy installation, the mounting box is first installed and the fixtureis then threaded onto the mounting box, making the electricalconnection. Electrical continuity is made when five threads are engaged.
Federal Signal’s Model 27XST is specifically designed for explosion-proof atmospheres and/or corrosive environments.Because it is easy to install and requires very low maintenance, it is ideal for use in areas such as oil rigs, mines, refineries, andchemical plants.

The Federal Signal Models 304GC and 314GC Amplified Speakersare designed to produce crisp, clear tones in supervised alarmnotification systems. These amplified speakers can broadcasttones generated by a tone card installed into the speaker (theplug-in 32-tone UTM) or by a central tone source in a voice evacuation or paging system. When live public address or voicemessages are required, plug-in Connector Cards (AM25CK orAM70CK) interface with the VRMS of the EVAC panel.
Both speaker amplifiers are compatible with fire alarm and suppression supervised control panels and power boosters.
The speaker cone and projector are constructed of rugged spunaluminum. The solid-state amplifier circuit is protected in a die-cast aluminum housing. Dust- and moisture-proof gasketsprovide protection from the elements. All external surfaces aresealed with gray powder coat paint. The 304GC is easily installedon any flat surface.
Both the 304GC and 314GC are UL Listed for use indoors and out.
The rugged construction and high output of the Models 304GCand 314GC make it ideal for use in harsh environments with highambient noise levels. Both models feature an internal gain controlfor adjustment to the suit area.

The Federal Signal Model 304X and 314X Explosion ProofAmplified Speakers are designed to produce crisp, clear tones insupervised alarm notification systems. Both models are compatiblewith fire alarm, voice evacuation, suppression supervised controlpanels, and power boosters.
These amplified speakers can broadcast tones generated by aTone Card installed into the speaker (the plug-in 32-tone UTM) orby a central tone source in a voice evacuation or paging system.When live public address or voice messages are required, plug-inConnector Cards (AM25CK or AM70CK) interface with the VRMSof the EVAC panel.
The speaker cone and projector are constructed of rugged spunaluminum. The solid-state amplifier circuit is protected in a die-cast aluminum housing. Dust- and moisture-proof gasketsprovide protection from the elements. All external surfaces aresealed with gray powder coat paint. A heavy-duty swivel mountbracket allows the installer to direct the output effectively.
The 304X and 314X are UL Listed for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C & D.
The rugged construction and high output of the Model 304X and314X make them ideal for use in harsh environments with highambient noise levels. Both models feature an internal gain controlfor adjustment to suit area.

In the Models 54GC, a short, folded re-entrant horn is interposedbetween the diaphragm and surrounding air space. This designprovides optimal dB output and very good frequency response.
The 54GC is UL Listed. It has been designed, tested and approvedfor use in Type 3R applications. When installed with the ModelWB Weatherproof Backbox, the 54GC is suitable for use outdoors.The compact size and attractive appearance of the Model 54GCmakes it ideal for use in offices, hallways, reception and plantareas where ambient noise levels are not exceedingly high, andeven sound dispersal is desired.
The 54GCB is designed for areas without high ambient noise levels, such as offices, hallways and reception areas. The baffleallows the four-inch speaker to be installed easily in any suspendedceiling plenum with a Model R4NB backbox. The white grill of the54GCB is attractive in most decors.
Internal gain control allows output adjustment from 0dBc to a maximum of 86dBc at 10 feet.
SelecTone Speaker Amplifiers are used individually or as part of a plant-wide emergency notification system. The Model UTMUniversal Tone Module, with 32 tones is plugged into a singleSelecTone Speaker Amplifier for stand-alone use or into aSelecTone Command Unit for plant-wide signaling.

Heat detectors are a necessary part of any fire alarm system.Federal Signal models FSF100SB and FSF101SB Heat Detectorsprovide a durable, architecturally pleasing solution. Each detectoris available with, as standard, both rate-of-rise and fixed temperature sensors. The FSF100SB Heat Detector contains a135˚ fixed temperature element and the FSF101SB Heat Detectorcontains a 200˚ fixed temperature element.
Rate-of-rise refers to how quickly the detector will sense a rapidrise in temperature and close its contacts. The pneumatic rate-of-rise element within the FSF100SB and FSF101SB will respondto a rise in temperature, approximately 15˚F (8˚C) per minute, by measuring the expansion of air within a sealed chamber. This increase in pressure depresses a diaphragm, causing an electrical contact to close the circuit. In addition to the rate-of-rise detection, each model has a fixed temperature element. The fixedtemperature element incorporates a fusible alloy. When activated,the external heat collector drops away to provide quick visual confirmation that the element has operated.
Each FSF Heat detector incorporates a slim profile, designed to beunobtrusive and minimize potential overhead obstruction. Theincluded mounting plate is designed to fit a 4" square junctionbox, 31/4" octagon box or plaster ring and adapts easily to unevenmounting surfaces.

The Model FSF103 Single Action Pull Station is activated quicklyand easily by pulling down the t-handle. The Model FSF102 DualAction Pull Station is activated by first lifting the metal cover thenpulling the t-handle. This two-stage process is designed to minimize accidental or malicious alarm activations.
The Federal Signal Pull Stations will operate as break-glass ornon-break glass stations. Glass rods ship with each unit and areinstalled easily. Replacement rods are readily available.

The model FSF104 Selectable Horn provides two different fieldselectable tones and a high/low output setting that can be accomplished with the use of mini jumpers located on the back of the unit. The FSF104 is clearly labeled with FIRE lettering and ispolarized for connecting to supervised fire alarm circuits. The FSFis available in 24VDC only; however, the horn will operate with aregulated DC supply or a FWR (full wave rectified) power source.The FSF104 is listed for indoor use, utilizing the same configurationfor both ceiling and wall mount, under the UL1971 standard.
The model FSF105 Selectable Chime provides a continuous toneor temporal pattern tone when constant voltage from a Fire Alarm Control Panel is applied. Each tone has two dBA levels(high or low) to choose from by repositioning a jumper located on the back of the unit. The FSF105 can be connected either independently or in unison. Using the FSF206 Synchronizationmodule, the Temporal pattern of the FSF105 can be synchronizedif two or more audible appliances are desired. The Federal Signal Model FSF106 Fire Alarm Bell is an audible signal meant to provide local notification when a Fire AlarmControl Panel has been activated. Normally mounted above doors,on walls or permanently fixed to other structures, the FSF106 produces a rapid ringing tone pattern that is clearly recognizablewhen heard.
The FSF106 utilizes a specially designed gong that gives a loud mechanical resonant tone. This bell design incorporates amicro-motor with a built-in varistor suppression element to reduceRFI and EMI interference found in today’s highly integrated microprocessor driven control panels.
Installation is straight forward. The FSF106 micro-motor assemblyacts as a universal mounting plate, allowing installation to variouswall surfaces and back boxes. Smoke detectors are a key part of any comprehensive fire alarmsystem as smoke may be present before flames. The FederalSignal model FSF109 Two-wire Photoelectric Smoke Detector andthe FSF110SB Two-wire Ionization Smoke Detector are designedto provide notification at a UL Listed Fire Alarm Control Panelwhen smoke is present. Each unit provides a localized indicationof stand-by and alarm conditions via a built in status LED TheFSF109 Smoke Detector includes a removable cover for easycleaning, a local switch for field testing, and a sealed design tominimize dust and insect intrusion.
The Federal Signal model FSF109 Photoelectric detector isdesigned to detect smoke through its effects on light. This makesthe device highly effective at detecting a smoldering fire longbefore it bursts into flames. Drift compensation and smoothingalgorithms are standard to minimize false activation. The modelFSF110SB Ionization Smoke Detector reacts to the changes in ionized particles, making it better at detecting a flaming or quicklyconsuming fire. With this design, the FSF110SB can detect smokenot visible to the naked eye. Both detectors are capable of detecting a fast-flaming fire, however for complete protection andnotification, a heat detector, duct detector and an audible/visualalarm may be purchased separately.

Each model contains a front mounted tamper-proof switch that allows the user to select the amount of strobe light flash energy required for theapplication. The FSF200ST is capable of either 15 or 30 Candelaand the FSF201ST is capable of 75 or 110 Candela. There are also two different tone settings, with each tone having a high orlow output setting. A 3000 Hz tone or simulated electromechanicaltone can be selected by configuring mini jumpers located on the back of the unit. A temporal or non-temporal Tone Pattern and a high or low dBa output are selected in the same manner.Each model is molded in red and clearly labeled with white FIRElettering, while polarization is standard for connecting to supervisedfire alarm circuits. The FSF200ST and the FSF201ST are availablein 24VDC only, however, each will operate with a regulated DCsupply or a FWR (full wave rectified) power source. Both theFSF200ST and the FSF201ST are listed for wall mounted indooruse, under the UL1971 standard.

The Model MPEX Explosion-Proof Pull Station is designed for hazardous locations where flammable gases, vapors, combustibledusts or easily ignitable fibers are present. The unique swing-upfront cover exposes a pull-down ring which activates the alarm;this two-step process prevents accidental activation. The MPEX isreset by depressing the shaft and returning the plate to its originalposition. Contacts on the unit are rated 120VAC, 60Hz at six amps continuous.
The enclosure is made of copper-free cast aluminum alloy.Installation is made easy via the feed through 3/4" conduit openingsfound on either end of the MPEX. It is painted bright red for highvisibility and has clearly marked operating instructions on the face plate.
