Preparation for Graduate and Medical Education (PARAdiGM) http://www.uab.edu/medicine/paradigm/ PARAdiGM is UAB's NIH/NHLBI-‐funded summer program for outstanding undergraduates from disadvantaged and underrepresented minority backgrounds who want to explore the potential of a future career as a physician-‐scientist. Five (5) students who have finished their sophomore or junior year of college will be accepted into the 8-‐week paid summer program (tentative 2016 dates: June 2, 2016 -‐ July 29, 2016) to work with UAB faculty on mentored research projects and participate in clinical experiences. PARAdiGM students will receive a stipend of $3,200 for their participation in the program. Campus housing will be provided but travel expenses are not covered. Deadline for completing the online application is February 15.
Summer in Biomedical Sciences (SIBS) Undergraduate Research Program http://www.uab.edu/medicine/sibs/ Our goal in offering this fellowship is to give talented undergraduate students the opportunity to experience the challenges and rewards of intensive, hypothesis-‐drive laboratory research. This experience should help students make well informed decisions about future career plans. Previous research experience is not required. We especially welcome applications from students who are interested in research as a potential career, including students interested in PhD and MD/PhD programs. Deadline for completing the online application is February 15.

Health Professions Information: Pre-Health Professions Minor This minor was created to prepare California State Fullerton students, from any major, who want to pursue an advanced study in a health professional program. Students can declare the minor, which will give them a structured pathway to meet health professions prerequisites and recognizes this secondary field of study and specialization. Coupled with intrusive advising and additional resources, this program will enhance the competitiveness of all of our students for professional school, regardless of their major.
1. Students who are interested in declaring the Pre-Health Professions Minor should complete the Declare Interest form here
2. Completing the form will allow us to open a file for you in our database in the event that you choose and qualify to pursue the Pre-Health Professions Minor
3. You do not have to have all prerequisites completed to simply declare interest 4. When you have completed the minor prerequisites, send your most current Titan
Degree Audit (TDA) to [email protected] 5. Your TDA will be reviewed to ensure you have fulfilled the GPA and pre-requisite
course requirements 6. An email will be sent to approve or deny your request 7. If approved, you will be asked to pick up a Request for Minor Objective Form
from Admissions and Records in LH-114 8. Bring the Minor Objective Form to our office to obtain a department signature 9. You will then be contacted to return the signed Minor Objective Form to
Admissions and Records Looking for Volunteer Opportunities? Please stop by UH-223 to fill out a volunteer opportunity form to receive more information!
