Principals Corner Mrs. Jacqueline Russell Dear Parents, Thank you so much for your continued support. Humboldt is on a roll and half the school year has rolled by. Time waits for none of us, so make each day count! We are in the midst of a state-wide MAP practice assessment and it is pretty detailed. This assessment will support us in making future instructional plans as we prepare for the actual MAP test at the end of March. We will gain a better understanding of what we still need to teach, reteach and spend more time practicing on. In an effort to cut down on make-up testing, please make sure that your child is here each day. HELP!! Parents, I need your help in reiterating safety and behavior expectations here at school and on the buses. We are dealing with too many behavior infractions at school and on the buses. I view bus tapes and always find myself in shock when I witness some of the behaviors. If your child receives multiple referrals, he/she faces disciplinary consequences that really can be avoided by simply following safety rules at school and on the buses. The Humboldt News Ms. Sierra Moore Family Community Specialist Hello Parents! February is finally here! With so many upcoming events we want to make sure that we all are on the same page. It is vital to check your child’s folders for any information that is sent home so that you don’t miss anything. I also encourage you to join our google group, one of our own Humboldt parents created this group just to keep in touch. It is a very informative and helpful group for our parents. You definitely won’t miss a thing, and you can vice your opinions and concerns! The link is on page two of the newsletter. Humboldt Spotlight Superhero Staff of the Month Mrs. Kara Geldmacher is our winner for the month of January. Way to go Mrs. “G”. Mrs. Geldmacher is an amazing asset to our team. She has a quiet strength that many may not be aware of. She always looks out or the best interest of the students. She has their best interests at heart. She buys extra food for students if they are still hungry, brings food, clothes and shoes for needy children. She speaks up as an advocate for students. She truly has a heart for our children. She is simply the BEST! We appreciate you Mrs. G, congratulations for being our superhero of the month! Principals CornerMrs. Jacqueline RussellDear Parents,Thank you so much for your continued support. In an effort to cut down on make-up testing, please make sure that your child is here each day.HELP!! The district’s Student Right’s & Responsibilities book, Humboldt’s Parent & Student Handbook and a Student Contract were all sent home and or signed during registration; therefore, all students have been made aware of expectations and are expected to follow them.  We also reiterate and practice expectations here at school.

Thanks for helping us help your child!

Character Word of the Month“INTEGRITY”Every month Humboldt encourages our students to display actions that represent the character word of the month. This month students were expected to show acts of “Integrity”. Teachers picked the top two students from their class and they are featured on our Wall of Character and in our newsletter. We encourage these words as a way to teach students the importance of character in everyday life!

Dear Parents“A Note To Parents”Humboldt Academy is a part of the magnet program, therefore attending our school is a privilege. All student’s attendance should be perfect. If a student is sick or has scheduled appointments, documentation regarding your child’s absence is required. Students should not miss numerous days consecutively. We can all reach our greatest potential, together!
