REGISTRATION FOR 7-UP We are doing online registration through Eventbrite at:

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/7up-virtual-event-registration-136341578331

You will register your club as a whole and list all the participants’ names and emails (including staff). This is so we can then send the zoom link to all those registered. Thank you to all that have already registered. The price went up to $10 per person as of today. You can pay online with a credit card, or you can choose the option to send in a check or be invoiced to the church as you check out.

Please make sure you check the add-ons before checking out on Eventbrite. That is where you will sign up the Pathfinders for the honors they would like to do. These will be first come, first serve and we are limiting each honor to 15 people, just so it isn’t too hard to handle in a zoom class. The next few sections will be dedicated to the different honors being offered and the needs for each honor.

When you are ready to register, (you know who all will be participating and which honors they want to

do), click on the link to the left and it will take you straight to Eventbrite. Please sign each Pathfinder up for only one honor for the weekend. Staff, please refrain from signing up for honors until Pathfinders have been able to make their selections, and then we can let you know what we have room for. It is looking like we will have room in Social Media for sure (they are willing to take more than 15), but there may be room in some others as well. Please don’t hesitate to contact Kim Taylor at [email protected] or 615-859-1391 if you run into any problems or have any questions.

NOTE FROM DR. NELSON SILVA In lieu of a note, we are putting the weekend’s schedule here. We are so excited about the fun times planned. We know this cannot compare to a weekend at camp, but we are really excited about what we have planned. In your welcome packets, you will receive all kinds of fun stuff that you will want to make sure you get to your Pathfinders before this weekend if possible, especially the blue tickets. We will be giving away prizes to the matching ticket numbers, but they have to show their ticket on camera to win :).

LEGO HONOR The LEGO Honor comes to us from Sam Prevost & Family. They can only take up to 10 participants and there are quite a few supplies that you will want to have on hand.

COME TO CLASS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19 WITH THE FOLLOWING:

1. A Tub of LEGO bricks.  (If you do not have any yet, we recommend purchasing A LEGO Classic Brick Box. There are a wide variety of sizes/prices available.) NOTE: Official LEGO elements will all have the LEGO word stamped on each and every stud. Please be sure you have the real deal!

2. A working knowledge of the following 10 LEGO terms: a. Element -Any item made by The LEGO Group. For example: brick, plate, tile, all minifigure pieces and accessories.

    b. Stud- The round connection point on top of a standard LEGO brick.       c. Brick -A standard plastic LEGO element. Usually 6 sided (including top and bottom) and ranging in widths and lengths between 1 and 16 studs.

d. Plate -A flat plastic LEGO element. One third the height of a brick element.

e. Base Plate -A flat plastic LEGO element with no attachment points on the bottom and thinner than a standard plate.

f. Tile -Similar to a LEGO plate however with no attachment points or studs on top.

g. Slope- A LEGO brick that has been modified to have a downward incline. The top of the brick has fewer connection points than the bottom of the brick.

h. Inverted Slope -A LEGO brick that has been modified to have an upward incline. The top of the brick has more connection points than the bottom of the brick.

i. Hinge-  One or more LEGO elements that are combined to allow connected pieces to move in any range of motion. j. Minifigure- Typically 4 LEGO elements that make up a LEGO person: 1. Hat, hair, helmet, etc. 2. Head 3. Torso (has arms / hands) 4. Legs (has waist)

(NOTE: Two more terms are required for this Pathfinder Honor, but we will go over them during our time together. They are:  Technic and Power Functions)

3. A piece of your world that you have turned into a LEGO creation!  • Find a real-life object in your home or

out in nature. Careful! Not too big and it's got to be able to be carried! While looking at it as a reference point, build a life-size replica of it. Bring both the reference object and your wonderful LEGO replica to class. Don't worry if the colors don't match exactly.

4. A proposal for a Bible story you could tell to a group of 2-9 year olds where you use as a visual aid at least one item you have built with LEGO.  You will be presenting your story in the final class on Saturday, so the more prepared you are by the time class begins on Friday, February 19, the better!

SOCIAL MEDIA HONOR Brent Cordis (from Nashville First Falcons) and Shadya George (from Pewee Valley) have been hosting an online club this year and have participants from literally all over the world. They are learning to make technology work for their ministry and would love to help our Pathfinders (and adults) learn how to use Social Media to do ministry. This honor will discuss the dangers of social media, but encourage the Pathfinders how it can be used for good. Those participating in this honor will need to have some type of social media page as they have to do a post to complete the honor.

CONFERENCE LEVEL PBE On Sabbath, Feb 13, four teams logged on virtually to participate in the conference level PBE. Join me in congratulating the PBE teams from the Pathfinder Clubs of Highland Warriors (Faithful Followers), Louisville First Light Bearers (Chosen Generation), and Smyrna Enmanuel (Courageous) for their well-deserved second place and the PBE team from the Pathfinder club of Manchester Mustang Thunder Sisters for getting first place – A well-deserved accomplishment. All the teams and coaches worked hard! Many blessings to all, and particularly to the Manchester team as they move to the Union level. See more pictures on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/kytnpathfinders) or on the PBE page of the website (kytnpathfinders.org)!

AREA COORDINATOR NEWS! We are happy to announce that Julio Barreda has accepted the position of Area Coordinator for the Middle South Tennessee District. Julio is no stranger to KYTN Pathfinders, as he has been helping with our TLT ministries. He looks forward to aiding the clubs in Middle South TN and providing opportunities for these clubs to join and learn from each other. Join us in welcoming Julio to his new position!

BACKPACKING TRIP David Garner & Jose Alba will be taking a group backpacking in Indian Creek Camp’s back woods on Mar 12-14. Anyone can sign up, it is only $20. This is a beginner trip so it’s great for first timers. A club sponsor is not required. Also David will work with each Pathfinder to ensure they have the gear needed. Staff are welcome to sign up and attend if there is room. This is a great opportunity to learn. We are however giving priority to the Pathfinders. Please see the details at the registration link and share this information with your club members. We are only taking 20 and there are 6 signed up so far.
