f r o m t h e H e a d T e a c h e r s d e s k February is filled with many exciting events; we can’t wait to see if the Groundhog
sees his shadow on the 2nd. In addition to all of the Valentine’s Day parties, we will
celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month; however the Dentist will not visit
the Center until the beginning of March. We will end February with a Pajama Day on
Friday, the 28th in honor of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. The cold wintry weather sure seems
to be hanging around. In the event of severe inclement weather, please remember to
tune into 6abc Action News or log onto www.6abc.com and watch for our name to ap-
pear or call the Center at 856.224.8701 and our automated greeting will advise you
of a delay or closing.
We hope everyone has a fantastic February & a very Happy Valentine’s Day!
Miss Jen & Miss Cassie
It is hard to believe that we are just about half way through the school year. 2014 has started off quickly, with
Valentine’s Day right around the corner. The children always have fun making Valentines and celebrating with
their friends during their classroom parties. Dental Health Month is amongst us once again. The Department of
Health was here on Tuesday, February 4th to audit our medical files. If you haven’t already done so, please be
sure to provide Danielle with an updated Universal Health Record, as well as an updated shot record. Don’t for-
get all children need a flu shot and we need documentation that your child received their vaccine this year.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Picture Day is upon us again! Teddy Bear Portraits will be here on
Thursday, February 20th to photograph the children. Please keep an eye out for more information to be sent
home in your child’s cubby. If your child doesn't normally attend on Thursdays; you are more than welcome to
bring your child in to be photographed. The photographer starts around 8:00am and is usually here until ap-
proximately 10:30am.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sincerely,
Kelly Shields
February brings feelings of cold weather, hot chocolate, and of course LOVE. You cannot help but feel
the love in the infant room. Babies are learning to feel safe and secure in their world through those who
care for them. We realize the important role we play when you entrust the care of your baby to us. This
month we will be celebrating Bane’s 1st birthday on the 26th. Happy Birthday to our big boy! One of our
themes this month is Tip Top Teeth. We love seeing those new teeth. It can be uncomfortable while they are
pushing through, but very exciting when we see them. We’ll also be learning about the color pink and the heart
shape. Have a nice Valentine’s Day with the ones you love and fun introducing your baby to the snow!
Love,
Ms. Cathy, Ms. Carolyn, Ms. Joan, Ms. Shannon & Ms. Helen
Wow! Did January fly by or what? Now we're in the month of flowers and hearts, and hug and kisses, Happy
valentines day! We will be having our Valentine’s Day party on Friday February 14th. Please keep an eye out
for a sign up sheet. Our themes for the month are tip top teeth, be mine, Olympic gold and Horton hears a
Who. We will have a lot of fun things planned for the month. We will learn how to take good care of our teeth and learn
about Dr. Seuss. We will be welcoming a new student to our classroom on February 12th. His name is Chase and we
are excited to get to know him. As always, please check your child's cubby for weather appropriate clothing and any
supplies they may be in need of.
Thank you for sharing your children with us.
Love,
Miss Tina, Miss Jenn, Miss Vicky and Mss Sally
Welcome to February! We will be having two Valentine’s Day parties to include all of the children; Thursday,
February 13th & Friday, February 14th. If your child would like to exchange Valentines, please just sign your
child’s name. There is no need to address the envelopes to individual children, this is very helpful to us and
makes sorting a breeze. We have 15 children total in our classroom. Darren will join our class again in a few months;
for now he will be home welcoming a new baby to his family. We will continue to work on promoting language; we are
so proud of the children’s progress. Sharing throughout our classroom is going so much better!
Happy Valentines’ Day!
Love, Ms. Kelly, Ms. Jess, Ms. Jackie, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Katelyn, Ms. Courtney & Ms. Gina

It’s hard to believe January is already over. We’ve been noticing many changes in the children over the past few months.
The children are learning to take turns, sharing with friends and cooperating through teamwork. These are huge accom-
plishments for children that are barely three years old. Valentine’s Day is Friday, February 14th. The last pajama/dress-
up day was such a success , we’ve decided to schedule one for Valentine’s Day. Please wear your favorite pajamas or
costume to school. A sign-up sheet will be posted by our door for anyone who would like to donate goodies or paper products. We
will also send home a list of classmates for anyone who would like to exchange Valentines. We will be discussing dental health this
month, but our visit from the dentist isn’t scheduled until Tuesday, March 11th. Special birthday wishes to Matthew who turns 3 on
February 12th. Happy Birthday Matthew! As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

February is going to be a busy, fun month in the Pre-K 1 classroom. We will be talking a lot about dental health, as well
as, the Olympics and Valentine’s Day. Our party will be on Valentine’s Day (Friday, February 14th). I have a sign-up
sheet posted. Also, I already sent home a list of the children in our class for Valentine’s cards. If you need another
copy, just let me know. School pictures will be on Thursday, February 20th. If you have any questions, please ask. We
will be having a pajama day on Friday the 28th to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday! During this week, we will be reading a lot of his
stories and making fun crafts. Lastly, but most importantly, we will be celebrating Ryan’s birthday on the 11th and Nolan’s on
the 21st. Happy Birthday Boys! Let’s make it a great month!

We have a lot of birthdays this February. Happy Birthday to Mya, Zane, and Leah; our big four year olds. Parents;
treats are always welcome so feel free to bring cupcakes, a special craft or a healthy snack. We are open to any-
thing to help celebrate their special day. In February, we will celebrate Black History Month and talk about some
important people who have done something special in history that we can enjoy now. Don't forget to sign up for
our Valentine’s Day party. It will be on Friday the 14th. We will be making homemade waffle sticks and enjoying ice cream.
Thank you all in advance for your participation and if you missed out on signing up there will be plenty of opportunities for
you to contribute. We appreciate all that you do for us and the children. We will be working on the end of the alphabet so
that way we can start our show and tell, the kids are so eager to begin. This is just another fun way to reinforce letter
sounds. Have a great February and stay warm and safe in this wintery weather.

Is February 17th,
WE ARE OPEN!
Since the weather has been so cold and we have not been able to go outside much, we have been getting more crea-
tive with our physical activity. Each week we do a “challenge” ! It’s just a fun extra activity to do with the children to
help promote good healthy habits early on in life. The children all participate and seem to enjoy doing the physical
activities. We will have a little Valentine's Day party on Friday the 14th. I will post a small list outside our classroom
door. If anyone would like to donate, that is great! Also, please send in one empty tissue box so that we can turn them into
our Valentines holders, we really appreciate it! We also welcomed a new friend to our Preschool 1 classroom, his name is
Shane! He has settled into our daily routine and is making friends with all of the children. As always, thank you for great com-
munication and support. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with me anytime.
Love,
Ms. Jackie, Ms. Marie, Ms. Danielle & Ms. Maryanne
Farewell to January and all it’s snow and cold temperatures. Hello to February with hopefully, a bit
more mild weather. We’ll have to check out the groundhog’s “prediction” on Sunday the 2nd to
see if spring will soon be here. Temperature and precipitation are things we’ll be closely watching
as we move into a study of weather later in the month. First, we’ll finish our study of the neighborhood. I
hope you are thinking up some good creative collections of 100 things for our celebration Thursday the
13th. It wouldn't be February with out a tribute to Valentine’s Day. We will celebrate with a sweet treat;
ice cream sundaes! Each child will be asked to bring in his/her favorite topping (no nuts) and I’ll provide
the ice cream. A notice will be sent home with your child's choice, along with a list of classmates names
for Valentine exchanges. In preparation, I’m requesting each child bring in an empty cereal box as soon
as possible. We’ll decorate them to use as “mailboxes.” To end this short, but busy month, we will cele-
brate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday with a pajama day on Friday the 28th. Traditionally, we’ve made that “Green
Eggs and Ham Day,” but since I won’t be here, we’ll have our ham and eggs on Thursday, February 27th.
Then on Friday, just wear your pj’s to school, bring your favorite Dr. Seuss movies and be prepared for a
relaxing day (the joys of kindergarten)! Love,
Ms. Korotinsky & Ms. Jeanine

We got through the month of January and all the snow! Let’s hope February will bring a little less snow.
During this month, we will be talking about teeth, Valentine’s Day, the Olympics and Dr. Seuss. We will be
continuing with our pre-reading books; The Tug of War and Peter and the Wolf. We will learn about fewer,
more, and graphs during math. We will be waiting to see what the Groundhog has to say on February 2nd.
Our class will exchange Valentines on Friday, February 14th and we will have a pajama day on the 28th to celebrate
Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. We will also be having fun with art and learning more science throughout the month. Please
remember accidents do happen occasionally, so please make sure your child has a change of weather appropriate
clothing. Thank you.
Love, Ms. Grace & Mr. Marc
