PRAYERThe healing presence of Jesus our Savior be with you.

And also with you.

Let us pray: God, our Strength,

we confess our fears and fractures. We are weary;

we wait now to be lifted by your grace and compassion.

(silence)

God of Justice, we confess our lack of trust in you, in others and in ourselves.

We are weary; we wait now to be encouraged with your love and mercy.

(silence)

God of Grace, we confess our withholdings and hesitations.

We want to praise you this day; we wait now to be inspired by your forgiveness and healing touch.

(silence)

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Child of joy, our dearest treasure, God's you are; from God you came. Back to God we humbly give you:

live as one who bears Christ's name.

Do you, as Christ's body, the church, reaffirm both your rejection of sin and your commitment to Christ?

We do.Will you nurture one another in the Christian faith and life

and include Bennett Gabik now before you in your care? With God's help, we will proclaim the good news

and live according to the example of Christ. We will surround Bennett Gabik with a community of love andforgiveness, that he may grow in his trust of God, and be found

faithful in his service to others. We will pray for him, that he may be a true disciple who walks in the way that leads to life.

Child of joy, our dearest treasure,God's you are; from God you came.Back to God we humbly give you:

live as one who bears Christ's name.

MARK 1: 29-39

As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house

of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s

mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him

about her at once. He came and took her by the hand and

lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to

serve them.

That evening, at sunset, they brought to him all who were

sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was

gathered around the door. And he cured many who were

sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and

he would not permit the demons to speak, because they

knew him.

ANTHEMsoloist, Laurie Phillips

How Firm a FoundationEarly American Melody, arr. Richard Walters

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in his excellent word!

What more can he say than to you he hath said,To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

Fear not, I am with thee, oh be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.

I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,Upheld by my righteous omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;

For I will be near thee, thy troubles to bless, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose I will not, I will not desert to his foes,

That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,I'll never, no never, No never forsake.

THE SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION

INVITATIONChrist our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who ernestly repent of

their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.

CONFESSIONTherefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another:

Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our wholeheart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not doneyour will, we have broken your law; we have rebelled against yourlove, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Silent ConfessionPARDON

God did not send his Son, our Savior, into the world to condemn but that the world might be saved through him. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you. And also with you.Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to givethanks to you, God almighty, creator of heaven and earth...

And so with your people on earth and all the company of heavenwe praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest...

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving

as a holy and living sacrifice in union with Christ's offering for us,as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here and everywhere who now share this meal and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be

for us the body and blood of Christ that we may be for the world thebody of Christ, redeemed by his blood. By your Spirit make us one withChrist, one with each other and one in ministry to all the world untilChrist comes in final victory and we feast at his heavenly banquet.

Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor and glory is yours,

almighty God, now and for ever. Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYEROur Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdomcome; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day

our daily bread. And forgive us for our trespasses as we forgive those who transpose against us. And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
