CCWA received an overall 85% satisfaction score for this survey, which is in line with other utilities according to Metrix Matrix . The attributes that received the highest scores were: Professionalism (office and field—94%), Courtesy (93%), Respect for Property (93%), Representative Concern & Helpfulness (91%) and Knowledge (92%). The amount of time for a customer’s issue to be resolved scored lower with 75%. While we scored high, there are opportunities for us to improve first call resolution and the customer’s experience overall. The survey just reconfirms that our front line staff, whether in the office or out in the field, do a great job! We will share results from the Relationship Survey in the March newsletter.

CCWA Receives Georgia F.O.G. Alliance Award For Excellence in Fats, Oils and Grease Management

CCWA’s Environmental Compliance Section recently received the 2014 Georgia F.O.G. Alliance Program of the Year

Award for providing an excellent fats, oils and grease management program in the 751 – 1,000 Facilities category.

The Environmental Compliance Section, sometimes referred to as the ‘grease

police’, is part of CCWA’s Water Reclamation Department. Housed out of the

W.B Casey Water Reclamation Facility in Jonesboro, the three member team

of Jennifer Brandon, Jim Powell and Troy Usry are responsible for

inspecting grease interceptors at local restaurants and other businesses.

Grease interceptors, also referred to as grease traps, are designed to collect

fats, oils and greases before they enter the wastewater collection system

through sinks and dishwashers. All municipal FOG programs in the state are

eligible for the award, which includes an in depth look at areas that make up

an award winning program, such as administration, engineering, inspections

and tracking. CCWA received a score of 99.22%, earning 516 points out of a

possible 520 points. The inspection evaluation team noted the following areas

where CCWA’s program excelled:

FOG program personnel are state certified

Excellent job in identifying FOG issues

Great job of teamwork (employees working together for the overall benefit of CCWA, customers, environment and the Clayton County community)

This isn’t the first time CCWA has received this honor. Staff earned the inaugural award in 2012 for the 500-750

Facilities category. Congratulations to the Environmental Compliance Team!

CCWA Reps Score High on Customer Satisfaction Survey

Metrix Matrix, Inc. conducted a residential customer satisfaction survey last September and October for CCWA. A

Relationship Survey was conducted with a random sampling of customers while a Transactional Survey was conducted

with 600 customers who had some type of contact (office visit, phone call or field visit) with CCWA during the previous

six weeks.

For the Transactional Survey, customers were asked about their overall satisfaction, IVR/Auto reminders,

satisfaction with the representative, field service satisfaction and contact resolution. CCWA received an overall 85%

satisfaction score for this survey, which is in line with other utilities according to Metrix Matrix .

The attributes that received the highest scores were: Professionalism (office and field—94%), Courtesy (93%), Respect

for Property (93%), Representative Concern & Helpfulness (91%) and Knowledge (92%). The amount of time for a

customer’s issue to be resolved scored lower with 75%.

While we scored high, there are opportunities for us to improve first call resolution and the customer’s experience

overall. The survey just reconfirms that our front line staff, whether in the office or out in the field, do a great job!

We will share results from the Relationship Survey in the March newsletter.

James Drake Retires from D&C

Our Condolences

Please keep the following

employees and their families in

your thoughts and prayers:

Jeff Jones (D&C) and his family

on the loss of his father, Mr.

Thomas (Tom) Lee Jones, who

passed away on January 1, 2015.

Linda Allen (Water Production),

Tim Allen (Customer Service)

and their family on the loss of

Linda’s daughter-in-law and Tim’s

sister-in-law, Ms. Cherish Allen,

who passed away on January 19,

2015.

Terry Moy Retires from PM&E

Program Management/Engineering Manager Terry

Moy retired in January after 7 1/2 years with

CCWA. Terry brought his extensive engineering

background to the authority. While here, his

accomplishments included: significant improvements

to our pipeline asset management; sewer flow

monitoring, sewer modeling, water, sewer and

stormwater pipeline condition assessments and

water, sewer and stormwater pipeline rehabilitation.

Terry also improved staff capabilities – especially

project management, construction inspection and contract management;

improved CCWA GIS capabilities and

wireless field data collection, oversaw

the 2010 Strategic Master Plan & 2015

update and managed several large

projects including: floodplain mapping,

HQ Building renovation, Atlanta Lift

Station and complex pipeline jobs.

Program Management/Engineering

staff held a retirement party in true

Terry Moy style - laid back and casual. As everyone who stopped by the party

saw, while he was often imitated, there is only one Terry Moy! We wish Terry a

happy retirement and many adventures on his boat along The Great Loop.

The name James Drake has been synonymous with

CCWA’s sewer maintenance section for years, and

his D&C coworkers showed him the love during his

retirement luncheon in January.

When he started with CCWA more than 24 years

ago, the section was called Sewer Maintenance.

During the growth and changes over years, James

gained an extensive knowledge of our sewer

infrastructure and was an

integral part of CCWA’s

Conveyance program that won

many GAWP Collection System

of Year Awards and now the

Collection System Gold Award.

He was a ‘go to guy’ you could always count on and spent

many Saturdays volunteering for CCWA’s Rivers Alive

Stream Cleanup and Household Hazardous Waste

Amnesty Day.

We want to thank James for his many years of dedication to

CCWA and wish him a healthy and happy retirement!

Employees are required to earn

four (4) wellness points before

February 28, 2015 to stay in the

least expensive health plan. If

you do not have your points and

documentation submitted to HR

before this time, you will pay the

standard rate for health insurance

next year.

CCWA Certification forms are

available in HR. If you have any

questions, contact Michelle

Mirzaiee or any other member of

HR.

If you were hired after May 1,

2014, you do not have to meet

this requirement this year.

Wellness Points Due February 28

Strategic Master Plan Update Project Scoring Workshop

2015 is bringing with it some exciting news for

CCWA’s Safety Committee. The committee

will be growing from 11 members to 14. New

members will allow for equal representation of

departments company-wide and ensure that

all those that work at CCWA have a place/

representative at the safety table.

Customer Service, Meter Services, IT,

Finance and Distribution now have their own

permanent spots on the committee.

Additionally, voting rights have been extended

to all members (excluding Safety and Security

Officer Walter Barber who will only vote in the

case of a tie).

The hope is that moving forward, information

will flow more fluidly from committee to safety

team leaders and department managers to

members of CCWA and vice versa to give us

a “circle of safety.”

Upcoming Training Classes

CCWA’s Management Team recently spent two days with

engineering firm CH2M Hill scoring strategic master plan

projects for the upcoming 2015 Strategic Master Plan

(SMP) Update. Rating each project as a group helps

determine a ranking for the projects and how each project

impacts various departments.

CCWA has used 10 Year Master Plans as a comprehen-

sive guide since the early 1960’s. Each plan is revisited and

updated every five years. This 2015 SMP Update currently

includes 95 projects.

New Service Tenure Recognition Program CCWA has made an exciting change to its employee service tenure recognition program. In the past, starting at 15 years

of service, an employee received a service pin for their years of service. They

received another lapel pin for every additional five years they worked.

Management and the Board of Directors wanted to do more to show tenured

employees how much their service to CCWA is appreciated.

Starting in January 2015, tenured employees are now able to select one gift from

four categories - Lifestyle, Traditional, Jewelry and Timepieces. For 15, 20, 25, 30

and 35 years of service, the selection is different and increases in value.

Employees will now receive a certificate when being recognized and will select one

gift from the choices that correspond to their years of service. The item will be

shipped directly to their home and should be received within three days of placing

the order.

The pictures show a possible selection of gifts for 20 years of service.
