“Sun is shining (sun isshining there's no need tosleep no more) Day is bright, yeah (The day is bright andyour heart has it's wings to
soar) It's a new day (Timewill be flying, freedom is atthe door) Feel alright, yeah(You feel alright, yeah, sowhat are you waiting for?)It's a new dayDifferent then yesterdayAll the concepts fighting for a place in my mindWell you'll find It's occupiedwith the divine” (http://

For those not my age, youmay not recognize the lyrics
above. They are from a bandthat sang together from 2000-2006. It was a group of firedup and sold out Christiangirls who wanted the world toknow of their Savior: JesusChrist. The group was named
love you feel flows out of you as we together go out
into this world each week with our “nets in hand”
sharing love, mercy, grace, peace, joy … being the hands
and feet of our Savior and becoming what we are calledto be: Salt and Light for theworld.
Once Jesus said that thefields were ripe but theharvesters where too few.May that never be so here atBHL. May we always have“tools in hands”. May wealways “plant seeds.” May
we forever be good andfaithful servants of theAlmighty King.
Rev. Johnson
to sing about what theydesired: life in Christ.
For them, the chance to helptell others about Christ meantthat it was not just them whowould have a “New Day” but
that through them, many mayexperience newness in Christ.
Last December we met atchurch and worked on anewness here. We discussedwho we are in Christ andwhat we can do to serve asJesus served.
As many of you know, thishas started with our upcoming Friendship Sunday breakfast/service and with ustouching base with those wehave lost contact with. Yet itdoesn’t stop there.
As the year progresses, weask for your prayers as wework inwardly strengtheningour own spiritual strengththrough small groups, prayer,Bible Study, movie nights for the children and teens, andsharing with those among usin need.
We also hope to reachoutwardly by greetingvisitors to our community,
providing meals for those inneed, participating in publicevents like the parades, continuing hosting concerts, actively praying for thosearound us in need … yet this
is only the beginning!
