Our Faith is not a consolation
of losers nor resignation of masochists.
On the contrary, it is a Faith of winners.
The Beatitudes are not meant
to be a consolation for those who suffer
nor an invitation to conform, but rather
an invitation to fight and to transform
situations of poverty, hunger, pain, etc.
It is about fighting for the
Kingdom of Peace, Love and Justice,
which will probably bring us problems,
persecution, rejection and even death by
those who feel their power threatened in
order to continue enriching themselves at the cost of hunger, poverty
and submission of those who are victims of this abuse of power and
evil.
The Kingdom of God is a Divine gift, but it has been entrusted
to us to build it and spread it.
If we want Peace, we must fight for Justice with Love. No, it
is not enough to just pray, it is necessary to act. The Lord puts us before
an arid field and entrusts us to plant it and harvest it; He puts us in
front of an empty table and instructs us to fill it with food; He places us
in front of a battlefield and entrusts us to fight for peace; in front of the
sick, so that we can give them comfort, health and hope, in front of the
poor so that we can help them out of poverty. But our struggle is truly
hopeful. If we suffer, or we feel persecuted and perhaps despised and
mistreated .... It is only for a time, because in God we can do
everything.
History shows us how there have been those who have
abused their power for their own benefit, oppressing people and
nations, terrorizing and causing suffering, but in the end, now they are
only a sad memory in history books. On the other hand, those who have
given their lives in sacrifice of others are honored as heroes and as
Saints who have conquered death and live eternally.
Those who have faith and fight with their faith will not be
disappointed, because their conquest will be to win the Kingdom of
Heaven, satisfy their hunger, laughter will be their consolation and the
joy of having triumphed.
Our true hope is in Christ, who suffered and died for us, but
who overcame death and with this gives us the guarantee that if we
live with Him, we will also be resurrected with Him.
Have courage, do not give up so we can take advantage of
what God offers us every day, and as we say in the United States: If life
gives you lemons, learn to make lemonade ... Or Margaritas, which are
tastier!

Nuestra Fe no es consuelo de
perdedores ni resignación de
masoquistas. Todo lo contrario, es una Fe
de triunfadores.
Las Bienaventuranzas no son
consuelo para los que sufren ni una
invitación al conformismo, sino más bien
una invitación a luchar y a transformar
las situaciones de pobreza, hambre,
dolor, etc.
Se trata de luchar por el Reino
de Paz, Amor y Justicia, lo cual
necesariamente nos va a acarrear
problemas, persecución, rechazo y hasta la muerte de parte de aquellos
que sienten amenazado su poderío para seguir enriqueciéndose a costa
del hambre, la pobreza y sometimiento de quienes son víctimas de ese
abuso de poder y de maldad.
El Reino de Dios es un regalo Divino, pero se nos ha
encomendado a nosotros el construirlo y difundirlo.
Si queremos Paz, debemos de luchar por la Justicia con Amor.
No, no basta rezar, es necesario actuar. El Señor nos pone frente a un
campo árido y nos encomienda para que lo sembremos y lo hagamos
producir; nos pone frente a una mesa vacía y nos encomienda para que la
llenemos de alimento; nos coloca frente a un campo de batalla y nos
encomienda que luchemos por la paz; frente al enfermo, para que le
demos consuelo, salud y esperanza, frente al pobre para que le
ayudemos a salir de la pobreza. Pero nuestra lucha es verdaderamente
esperanzadora. Si sufrimos, nos vemos perseguidos y quizá despreciados
y maltratados…. Es sólo por un tiempo, pues en Dios todo lo podemos.
La historia nos muestra como ha habido quienes han ejercido
su poder en beneficio propio, oprimiendo gente y naciones, aterrorizando
y ocasionando sufrimiento, pero a fin de cuentas, ahora sólo son un triste
recuerdo en los libros de historia. En cambio, quienes han dado su vida
en favor de los demás, son honrados como héroes y como Santos que han
vencido la muerte y viven eternamente.
Quien tiene fe y lucha con fe, no quedará defraudado, pues la
conquista será el ganar el Reino de los Cielos, la saciedad de nuestra
hambre, la risa del consuelo y el gozo de haber triunfado.
Nuestra verdadera esperanza está en Cristo, que padeció,
sufrió y murió por nosotros, pero que venció a la muerte y con ello nos
da la garantía que si vivimos con El, también con El hemos de resucitar.
Animo, no nos demos por vencidos y sepamos tomar ventaja de
lo que Dios nos proporciona cada día y como decimos en los Estados
Unidos: Si la vida te da limones, aprende a hacer limonada…. O
Margaritas, que son más sabrosas.

About the Bishop’s Ministry Appeal Trust.- It is because of benefactors like you, through the
Bishop’s Ministry Appeal, that we are able to continue the
ministries of the Diocese in educating and forming our

Gracias a los benefactores como usted, a través de la Solicitud Ministerial del Obispo, podemos continuar Ministerios de la Diócesis para educar y formar a nuestros hijos en la fe, cuidando las necesidades de los pobres, desarrollando líderes hispanos, educando a nuestros seminaristas, promoviendo ministerios de jóvenes y jóvenes adultos, capacitando diáco-nos, apoyando al Obispo en el cumplimiento de sus deberes, y a todas las demás buenas obras del ministerio apoyadas por la Apelación del Ministerio del Obispo. VENTA DE COMIDA.- El Domingo 3 de Marzo de las 8 a.m. hasta las 4 de la tarde habrá una venta de comida en el nuevo Salón Parroquial para ayudar a Martha Galván que se está recuperando con éxito de su tratamiento contra el Cáncer. Al mismo tiempo que le ayudas con sus gastos médicos, puedes disfrutar de la sabrosa comida que la comunidad ofrecerá en venta para favorecer a Martha con sus gastos.
INAGURACION DEL SALON.- El Viernes 8 de Febrero Estrenamos el Salón Parroquial con una comida de agradecimiento a todos los que trabajaron físicamente en la construcción del edificio. Comenzamos con la Bendición y Dedicación del Salón para luego continuar con la entrega de certificados de reconocimiento y finalmente, disfrutamos de la deliciosa comida. Ahora tenemos el Salón para servicio de la comunidad.
RECONOCIMIENTO A LOS DONADORES.- Queridos Donadores. Es gracias a sus generosas donaciones y oraciones que hemos abierto las puertas del Salón Parroquial de San Jose para servir a la Comunidad de esta Parroquia. Para celebrar este trabajo realizado por amor, les invitamos a que vengan a este reconocimiento que haremos a todos ustedes que han contribuido en la realización de este proyecto. Por favor vengan conocer el Salón Parroquial de San José el Sábado 2 de Marzo 2019 de las 2 a las 5 de la tarde. Tendremos bocadillos y bebidas.
MISA DIARIA - De acuerdo a los resultados de la reciente encuesta, una gran mayoría prefiere la Misa diaria a las 6 p.m.. A partir del Martes 19 de Febrero, la Misa diaria será a esa hora. JUNTA DE PADRES DE CATEQUIZANDOS.- El Jueves 28 de Febrero a las 6 p.m.. Recuerden que es requisito que asista por lo menos un Papá o Mamá de cada niño de Catequesis, ya que la Catequesis es en familia y deben estar preparados para ayudar a sus niños. Los Catequistas no deben de faltar a esta reunión mensual.
FOOD SALE.- On Sunday, March 3, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. there is going to be a food sale on the new Parish Hall in favor of Martha Galvan who is recovering with success from a cancer treatment. As you help her with the medical expenses, you may enjoy the delicious food that the community is going to sale to help Martha. OPENING OF THE PARISH HALL.- On Friday, February 8, A delicious dinner was offered for everyone who was involved in the construction of the new building. We begun with the Blessing and Dedication of the building, later we gave the certifications of recognition and finally we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Now we have a long time needed Parish Hall for the use of our community. RECOGNITION TO THE DONORS.- Dear St. Joseph Parish Hall Donors, It is through your generous donations and prayers that we are ready to open our doors to serve the Catholic Community of Mono County. In order to celebrate this labor of love, we have set a date and time to bring together all the benefactors, donors, and visionaries who contributed to this project. Please join us at the Parish Hall, on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Refreshments will be served DAILY MASS - According to the recent survey, a great majority, prefers the daily Mass at 6 p.m. For this reason, beginning on Tuesday February 19, the daily Mass will be at 6 p.m.
