How do you help war-weary Ukrainians raised in an atheist society find hope? Show them where life and Jesus intersect!

FEBC knows just how to do that – by using indigenous broadcasters who live in the same region and struggle with the same fears and challenges. As they share the love of God, listeners remain tuned in, intrigued by “a world of practical, living, real Christianity,” as one listener put it.

Preparing Hearts to Receive JesusBroadcasting in areas devastated by military conflict also requires a vulnerable heart and an ability to help

people trust God. And when trust develops, people are drawn to the love of Jesus…and find hope.

“When I began listening to FEBC, I knew next to nothing about Jesus. Then we became refugees. I lost my job, we had to ask relatives for help, we lived in train stations, and ran with bullets flying over our heads; all of this made me think: what was I living for? No one really talks about this. No one…except FEBC. My wife and I began listening to your station. God entered the open doors of our hearts. We’re getting ready to be baptized in our church.”

FEBC’s message will never change - proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples of all nations - but our methods of capturing people’s attention have changed, as we witness an enormous response to our programming through new technologies. That’s why we’re multiplying our efforts and reaching even more people.

At Our FingertipsIn the past several years, we’ve seen the Good News of Jesus Christ spread like wildfire in Vietnam through our recently developed Gospel Speaker Boxes. This success has paved the way in other challenging regions, such as Cambodia, India and Indonesia, where we’re now distributing Speaker Boxes, a digital audio player that contains 120 hours of Christian programming that listeners can tune into day or night.

Cell phones are common in numerous countries, and many are tuning into FEBC broadcasts for the first time through smartphone apps that offer our programs. India, with a population of 1.1 billion, has 1.3 billion registered

cell phones, half of which are smartphones. Our goal is to launch new apps to reach millions in India, where authorities are clamping down on radio stations.

Internet downloadsWe’re also sharing the Gospel with millions

through the Internet, which has proven most effective when our 2 main radio stations were shut down in Russia. “Thank you very much for your wonderful programs that I listen to on the Internet,” Diana writes from Moscow. “You’ve taught me a lot about forgiveness.”

New PlatformsWhen authorities blocked our websites in China a couple of years ago, the decision was made to implement multi-channel platforms to reach listeners. Besides offering phone apps, we built a website to serve the blind. We also started using WeChat, a popular social networking platform in China, where listeners can tune into our programs. We currently average 1.7 million downloads/listeners a month, a 50% increase from 2016.

Technology is ever-evolving, and FEBC engineers constantly have their ear to the ground, eager to employ any new method that will help us share the Good News.

PLANNED GIVINGIn late December 2017, Congress enacted the most comprehensive tax law changes in more than 30 years, as President Trump signed into law the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

God KnewJust before the war started in 2014, several people began praying for FEBC to build an FM station in Ukraine. A year later, we were on the air in Slavyansk, Eastern Ukraine. Little did we know that this would be the very city where the military conflict would begin.

But God knew. His hand was upon us, directing our efforts to bring the Good News to people who would soon be decimated by war.

Hope in the War ZoneWhile you may not read about it in the headlines, the Russia-Ukraine conflict rages on, having escalated to a fever pitch in December 2017. In the three years since it started, 12,000 people have died.

We don’t know what the future holds for violence and conflict here, but we do know that broadcasting the Gospel to millions of Ukrainians is a priority for FEBC. Five new stations have opened since 2015, with two more projected for 2018. People are desperate for hope amidst the devastation, and listeners are responding to the Gospel in large numbers.

“I’m a surgeon, working in the rebel territory. Because the wounds of people are often severe, someone dies on my operating table every day. At one point it was unbearable to see so much death. The only thing that kept me alive was the radio tuned to your station. I’m not a religious person, but I now think about God every day. I feel life coming from your broadcasts; I don’t know how to explain it, but I want to be connected to this source of life.”

Kiev Media Evangelism CenterCurrently, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are tuned into FEBC. But we believe God wants us to reach millions!

One critical strategy to increase our reach is to establish a powerful evangelism center in Kiev, the capital city, which will provide studio space for broadcasting, a conference room to meet with local leaders and office space.

Our goal is to make sure that millions of Ukrainians discover that God loves them and has a plan for their lives. Thank you for walking beside us and helping us fulfill that mission…all for the glory of God!

Dear Friends,

I’m often asked what my vision for FEBC is, which is easy. As long as God gives us the resources and strength, FEBC will continue to share the Good News “until every man, woman, and child has heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

It’s what changed my life, it’s what changed your life, and it’s what will change the lives of people around the world.

How we reach people, of course, is critical; we strive to do that through whatever means are available, either traditional methods or new technologies.

I sometimes struggle with the challenges life brings us, as I’m sure you do. We see people in need all around us as disease, war, and poverty devastate so many. And we know that it’s important to care for people as God prompts us.

But I’ve come to the conclusion that the only thing that’s going to matter 10,000 years from now is that men, women, and children heard the Gospel, repented of their sin, and embraced God’s gift of salvation. Knowing God and following Him is the yardstick by which we’ll all be measured.

I know that you love the Lord – and you honor Him by giving sacrificially so that others can know Him too. Together, we are delivering the only news with eternal, lasting value…the Good News of Jesus Christ!
