The Resurrection in the Gospel of John Illuminated through The Saint John’s BibleThe Saint John’s Bible is the first completely handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned since the invention of the printing press more than 500 years ago. “This is a work of art,” Pope Benedict commented, “a great work of art...a work for eternity.” Michael Patella, OSB, will introduce seminar participants to the hermeneutics of The Saint John’s Bible and Susan Sink will describe the creative process that led to its production.

Morning lectures on the resurrection narrative in the Gospel of John by Sandra M. Schneiders, IHM will be complemented by Susan Sink’s afternoon reflections and guided meditations on the illuminations in The Saint John’s Bible. Seminar participants will also enjoy opportunities for small group viewings of a Heritage Edition of the Bible with a docent.
