WHAT IS A HEATMAP?A heatmap is a two-dimensional graphical representation of data where the information is represented by different colors.

Heatmaps are extremely powerful for understanding what part of a web page, logo, ad, or any other design that are the most eye-catching to viewers.

HOW DO I USE IT?With Survey Analytics, you can conduct heatmap analysis by using our interactive heatmap question type! Respondents can click + drag a selection over the area of the image that they find most visually appealing. With multiple respondents, you will quickly see the density range of different colors and the corresponding popularity. The brighter the color, the more clicks and attention that area is getting.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DATAWhen people take the survey, they will see the image you uploaded (see example on the right). Then they can click and drag as many boxes as you specified (up to 5) over the image in the areas that they think are most eye-catching.

Once more people have taken the survey, the colors will start to appear deeper, giving way to rich insights about where people look at your website, logo or ad design. There are so many applications and uses for heatmap analysis - and it’s actually fun to take!
