The table above indicates that coverage area of Tg. Priok Port as a transit port is strictly limited to the cruise ship transit time, i.e 8-10 hours. This limitation could be significantly relaxed by implementing the Ministerial Decree released by the Minister of Transportation No. 121 of 2015 on the Provision of Easy Access for Foreign Tourists Using Foreign-flagged Cruise Ships. The decree include Tg. Priok Port as embarkation/debarkation port (also known as turnaround port) along with Benoa Port, Tg. Perak Port, Makassar Port, and Belawan Port. Once this decree takes effect, tourists should have higher degree of freedom in organizing their itinerary. Hence, widening Tg. Priok Port’s coverage area.
