PROLOGUE

"Why, it happened to me?...

This had been my question since my grandpa died and I was

feeling guilty for that. Years have passed, they forgot, but I

remained the same: the strange kid who never talks to anybody,

who doesn't have the power to fight for his own things, but thosethings have finally changed when I turned 18.

Chapter One: Loneliness

It was just a typical Friday in Norway, but that typical dayturned to be more hilarious than I thought, not just because it

was my eighteenth birthday. Everybody around me, I mean my

family, was making me happy. I took my breakfast and then

went to school. There was just another hell like anywhere else

instead of home, the only place where I was feeling normal. So I

went to that place which was meant "to educate us" and as usual

I stood in the last bank of the class. Suddenly the most popular

SPECIMEN came to me and said:

"Happy birthday, Coleen!", I smiled but I remembered that we

haven't talked until then.

"Thank you, but how do you know it's my birthday?"

"From Facebook, of course!!!!!!"

"But, I don't have any Facebook account", and then everything

went clear; it was just another stupid joke made just to make me

feel bad, then Joshua said:

"Thank God for reminding you that, because I just couldn't stay

in front of you ugly woman anymore.., AAAAHHHHH" and

everybody had laughed until Mrs. Shepherd, our literature

professor, came.

That class seemed to be more boring than normally and sitting

there was another pain that I had to get over.

I was running in a white dress with my black hair in the air as

my tears were running down my cheeks. All around me, was

black, but I could distinguish some eyes which were staring at

me as the lurk was behind every tree.

All of sudden I felt down on the soft grass and the moon started

to come out behind those dark clouds which were covering the

sky .I looked at it and I felt a chill run down my spine.

Then, I dont know how, I woke up and everybody was staringat me. Mrs. Shepherd came to me and asked if I was okay and if

I needed help. I was confused because I thought I just took a nap

in class which in my opinion wasnt such a bad thing that

requires special help.

That class ended in a strange way. Next class I had biology so I

had to go upstairs. On the hall everybody, but everybody, wasstaring at me inclusive the janitor and they were all whispering

but I could catch up freak, strange, evil in person.

These words made me to feel so bad and full of anger I shouted:

WHATS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?

While I was releasing my anger everything became black again.

I was again running in that white dress, but the imagine now

seemed to be more clear. I glanced over my shoulder and I

could see that somebody was following me., but I couldnt say if

that person was a bad one or a good one as I wasnt feeling

something. Again I felt down and looked at the moon. I felt that

chill which made me feel so powerful.

Afterwards I woke up and I realized I was on the floor of

schools hall. As I could see those windows were broken .

Maybe it was an earthquake and I fainted I was telling to

myself.

But the strangest things werentthe broken windows, instead,

were the fainted people around me, all who where whispering;the others I didnt know where they were. At the end of the hall

I could see a little girl holding her grandpas hand. When I

realized who they were I gasped into horror.

Thats me! Grandpa?I shouted as tears were coming out of

my eyes

Now you know who you really are!

Immediately I stood up and ran to them, but again that stupid

faint came in the worst moment.

Now I was holding a violet necklace in my hands and its purple

crystal was introducing me into a meditation moment when I

was myself. Consciously I tried to wake up, but I couldnt, like I

had to see something. While I was looking intensely at that

purple crystal it started to shine brightly and my eyes became

completely black like I was possessed .From behind I could

hear:

moment disappeared.

I, the paranormal one, turned around and yelled. Instead of

hearing just that creepy sound I could see that enemy, who I

suppose was 17-year-old black boy, in the air.

Soyour powers grew?! Hmmmm, quite interesting! This

happened just to one more person: YOUR DARLING

GRANDPA!, hearing that, me, the normal one, started to bemore interested in that conversation, whereas the paranormal

one lifted that man higher in the air and then left him fall, but

she caught him just right before he was a centimeter away from

ground . Then she said:

Never, but never say something again about my family because

I will make you regret every little word you have said.

When the story was more interesting I woke up again, but not at

school; I was in my silly bed and surrounded by mum, dad, my

sister Katherine, my brother Brad, who were older than me, and

grandpa. ..........................................

secrets?I was green with envy knowing that my brothers

werent at all in such a bad situation like I was.

I dont know how , butI felt asleep and after two hours of great

pleasure I felt an icy cold air surrounding me. Taken by surprise

I woke up and saw my sister, Katherine, in front of me.

I know you are confused , but you will understand everything.

How am I supposed to understand something when everythingwas hidden from me. And , by the way, did you know that

grandpa was alive?

Yes I did, but believe me that was the best way to protect

Why?

You will understand , just wait a while to figure it out,

hearing the last words I could see a silhouette behind her which

was coming from the kitchen. It was who I really wanted to see.

So, explain me, why this chaos is happening to me? , I was

asking my darling grandpa with a low tone

what is happening to you!

First of all we arent like other people on this planet. We

So I was telling you that we arent like other people on this

planet. We are like those wizards you see in movies, but we are

a little bit different. Of, course we own a wand, but we can useour powers without using that stick. You can say we are

normal people, who dress up normal, who behave themselves

normal, but we have some magical power.

Okay I understood what we are, but why did you pretend tobe

dead and how did we become wizards?

I will reach those points too, butlet me explain you everything

in detail.

Once upon the time the Earth wasnt so peaceful like now,

because every person wanted to achieve the great power on the

top of the great mountain LokaHanta, today known as Climani

Mountain near Transylvania. That power was given by an old

man who had been all his live a wizard and took care of Earth

by himself. One day he refused to do that as he wasnt

appreciated. So Mokaly put all his power into a crystal sphere

on LokaHanta and told the people that there you could find the

power which was given from Gods . Many fought for that

unbelievable power which was just a great responsibility and

many get caught in that trick, but just one brave lady succeeded

in catching that little sphere. She was my grand-grand-grand-

grandgrand mother. Her name was Linda and her origins

were from Romania so she knew exactly how to reach that point.

So Linda went away from her parents because they werent

accepting such a monster in their normal family. She went

Mokaly to protect her and teach her . She went for three months

all by herself by foot all the way to Norway where that old man

was, so you could imagine how determined she was but in thesame time how precocious . Years passed and Linda became so

powerful that in just one second she could destroy the entire

universe and create a new civilization.

You know that people, are full of envy and anger, dont you?

You know that they always want to become the best, dont

you?

I was wondering why he was asking me all these things and I

answered shyly:

Yes, I know!

Let me prove you this one more time!

People couldnt accept that just one person was able to have thegreatest power in the world, so one young and charming boy

made in such way that Linda felt immediately in love with him.

Months, years spent and they were in love with each other. One

day he was sad, so Linda scared came to him and said:

days! Tell me whats going on!

How do you want me to feel when you are so powerful and

beautiful and I'm so useless!

heart. Next second she was dead.

While he was going to his own child to kill him to, Mokaly

suddenly appeared took the little baby and disappear. Since then

all the wizard who are on Earth are divided in two sides: the

good ones and the bad ones.

I have just some questions. How Mokaly could appear and

disappear like that if he had no powers? Do we have powers,

too? Who are the bad ones?

Mokaly didntput all his power in that sphere he kept some

for emergencies. We do have powers, because, when Linda

gave birth to Filingan he got the same powers as Linda withoutaffecting her. If Filingan was a girl, her mother would have

chosen if she deserves her powers or not. You are the only one

who has powers without being given by your mother. The bad

ones are still alive, but we dont know where they are and what

they are doing, because a long time ago we reached an armistice

as we wont bother each other.

You still didnt answer my first question; why did you die?

When I died you had 11years and your powers have grown so

much and that was suspicious to me.

You still didnt make the situation clear to me.

When someone grows up near to his grandmother or

grandfather he can take his or her power.

But, why you didnt pretend to die when Brad had my age?

I told you that at boys nothing bad can happen and Katherine

achieved her powers when she was eighteen and there were no

risks!

But, why at this age? And why did this happen to me?

Linda died at the age of eighteen and every girl since then

achieves her power when they have the same age so that nothing

bad can happen. We still dont know why you are the chosen,

but all I can tell you is that you are born on the same date asLindajust 1200 years away!

What do you mean when you say that I am the chose one?

Nothing, that was said mistakenly ! Do you have any

Everyone lived for 200 years but they looked like they had 80 ,

but you can live more as you are different, be happy because of

Chapter Three: Let The Game

Begin

Something wasnt clear to me; why did I haveto prepare and do

exercises to know how to control my power, in such hurry,

when no danger would appear. Another thing which made methink all night long was why my grandpa said that I was the

chosen one. In which way he referred, when he said that, like d I

had to fight with some bad people, but earlier he had said that

those bad wizards and witches are away and no one knew

something about them. For me anything had any sense, but I

was hoping that in the near future I would understand.

Very early, at 5 a.m. he indeed came and woke me up, although

he didnt need to do that as I had been already awake.

In our first lesson he tried to learn me how to be calm in any

situation, as MY powers would come out of control and would

take over me. I said he tried because I wasnt at all

concentrated on this lesson, thinking all the time at whathappened the day before. All I knew to be real was in fact a big

lie said to PROTECT me , althoughin the end seemed to

make worse than good.

After twenty minutes of lesson grandpa saw that I wasnt paying

attention to what he was saying so he stooped and said:

What, ohh, I wasnt paying attention!

Hmmm.Do you like this lesson?

Sincerely, no!

Lets try something different! Do you like to fly?

That had been my dream since I was a little child, so full ofenthusiasm I said:

Of course!!

All wizards and witches know to fly, but we can even without

that broom.

Is it true? Will you learn me to fly?

Of course, it is true and I will learn you fly only, but only, if

you pay attention to this important lesson!!!!!, he said with a

severe tone.

Ok!

I tried to pay attention to that lesson, which after some good

minutes became interesting, even more when he showed me

how to move things when I am under pressure. What was

making me nervous wasnt my grandpa staring at me ! Was the

object which I was supposed to move; my mothers favorite and

priceless vase. In the end I succeeded in putting that on the

table. After seeing that the vase was safe again I fainted.

Now, I was in an old graveyard. I was looking for a grave. I was

so concentrated in finding that grave, like my life or others

depended on it. I felt hopelessness in my eyes until I saw what I

wanted.

Notable is that I was wearing that white dress, but it wasnt

dirty, like it was washed before, but something different could beseen at me. I was wearing that purple necklace and it shinned so

brightly when I came to that grave.

It was Lindas grave, born on 23rd

of October 813 and died on

27th

of July 832.

When I, still the normal one, saw that, gasped into horror,whereas the other me, was so happy to find it. Quickly I said a

chant and Lindas ghost came from her grave. When I saw her

spirit I gasped into amazement , because I looked exactly like

her, but instead of that blonde hair I had a black as night hair,

which I inherited from my mother. She seemed so peaceful, but

that couldnt be said about me as well as I was looking just like

a bad witch. After Linda said something into an unknownlanguage to me, I stood up and in the next second you could see

me upon in the sky flying. For a few seconds I looked around to

see if someone was following me and then I flew away in the

distance so quickly that you could see just a dark silhouette in

the distance.

Seeing that I was safe I felt relieved and looked to Linda and

smiled.

All of sudden I heard someones footsteps in the woods and then

he said:

You, little bastard ! You thought you could beat me? No, you

wont succeed because I am a step in front of you!

Then he grabbed his broom and flew where I was going.

Scared to death I screamed. As I was yelling I woke up in the

garden. My grandpa scared as well came close to me and said:

What happened?

Mmmm,I was trying to lie but I couldnt do it well, just a

nightmare!

Seriously?

Yeah, sure!~ I have a question for you; how much I fainted?

I dont know, maybe a second two. I turned back, then I saw

you down and afterwards I saw screaming!

Oh,and I thought it spent hours

Seeing how dangerous my life would be I started to be

concentrated at lessons and I was trying to become the best

witch ever.

Chapter Four: Feeling

Comfortable In My New Life

Sunday passed so quickly, that I couldnt believe to myself that

in two days my life would be so different.

Monday came, and I started to go downstairs to go to the

educating place, but mum came in front of me.

What are you doing?

I go to school

What? Didnt you hear that you wont go to school?

I wasnt at all sad, but to make it more dramatic and to find

more things I said:

But, why mom?

The principal said that too many parents complained about

what had happened Friday!

What happened, exactly?

So when you are angry or in other mood than calm your power

takes over you and that is what happened on Friday !

I suppose that you were angry so when you were releasing youranger you were affecting the people near to you even though

they hadnt done something bad to you. Also that power

released can destroy objects near to you

In that moment I was understanding why I had to control myself.

The feeling that I was releasing could kill not just the people

near me, it could kill me.

Hearing what do I have to confront I promised to myself to pay

attention to grans lessons.

But, now how I will take my degree?

Dont be scared! We have alreadyarranged to a professor toteach at home until you will pass your exams at school. Also he

is a wizard, so he will learn you some chants.

WooowI thought this thing with magic is just in family!

The rest of the day I spent with grandpa who learnt me how to

make things disappear and how to manipulate people withpower of my mind. It was so funny to see a squirrel knocking

itself with his tiny hand on head.

In the evening my new professor, Jordan, came and taught me

everything I had on Monday and then as a gift he showed me

how to make a health chant.

Things seemed to be normal until Thursday when my worst

dream came true.

Chapter Five: Challenge Is Near

That day started as normal as the others, just me and my

grandpa exercising , but that day was raining so I had mylessons in the living room. I was so tired in the morning that I

preferred to stay in my pajama, my white lovely dress. It was

awful to be so concentrated on things not to break them and to

be calm in the same time. After twenty minutes of practicing my

grandpa and I decided to take our breakfast.

While I was eating my pancake I was reminding how simplewas my life six days ago and now how complicated, but in the

same time, how beautiful it is. Now I know how to defense, how

to move things, how to make them and myself to disappear or to

become invisible, how to manipulate, how to fly a little bit.

Knowing how to do these things so quickly became weird for

me as I thought it supposed a lot of work to know to do that,

and I was doing them perfectly from the first try. Even grandpa

was very astonished by my daily evolution.

Immediately after I finished my pancake I heard an explosion.

Stay there and be prepared to defense!, said grandpa

But, why?

Just do what I said!

I was trying to be prepared for the worst although I was so

scared. Suddenly I felt an icy cold air just like the one when I

first fainted.

Afterwards I heard:

Nooo! Coleen run!, was my grandpa screaming

Just stay there!, that wasnt my grandpa voice. It was more

like a ladys voiceand then she came with my grandpas body.

She was dressed up in a skinny pair of jeans, with a transparent

t-shirt put in her jeans . Moreover she had some flats in her feet

and a Gucci belt. She was beautiful , but was a bad witch.

Didnt your parentstaught you that you have to salute older

people?

Okay! So, once in 200 years the bad ones defend the good one

and who wins gets everything. Thats all!

So the one who is eighteen in that year will have to battle

against the one who is eighteen from the bad team! Who dies is

the loser !

Yes, and you are the first girl who fights against them, you are

the only one who had powers even though she wasnt eighteen!

But, why do we have to fight? Didnt we reached an

armistice?

You see, the bad ones After Linda had died they said that they

were the only one who deserve to have powers, so Andrew , one

of them, went to kill Filingans boy, Harry, who was eighteen ,

but instead of killing him, Andrew was killed. This happened

200 years after Lindas death, so since then ,every two hundred

years this battle has been taking place and every time good has

won!

But, why is this so important?

You know, when good wins or when bad wins he achieves

more power which will be given to the one who have one!

We won for 6 times, so we are 6 times better than the evils, butthey take their power from somewhere else

So, before the battle takes place I have to find those things or

places and destroy them!

Chapter Six: Life turns 180

Even though at first everything for me was more like a joke,

now all this situation was more than real. My life was put in this

stupid game.

Moreover, not to be found by Victoria and her bad friends,

grandpa decided that the best for me was to move away, so in

that morning we left immediately without taking anything not

He was pointing to a black door. Curious I opened it. Inside

there was the perfect bedroom I had ever dreamed . I had big

fluffy bed, covered with a white blanket. I the room was a desk

where I was supposed to do my homework, a white Mac, which

I didnt even have at home, a TV on a black commode. I also

had a bid wardrobe but was empty and the best part of the room

was the window which had the loveliest view I had ever seen. Icould see the entire forest and I could also admire the sunshine

and the moon.

That was a dream which came true but not in total , because I

had still to fight against that guy and to find out those magical

things.

Chapter seven: My Fantasies

Are True

After he showed me my room, we had lunch and afterwards Icontinued my lessons like nothing had happened and I was so

angry on him because we was treating this situation without any

interest. After I saw what had happened I thought he would like

to inform me and tell me more secrets, but he didnt do that.

Those lessons , I could say, were the most horrible and boring

lessons I had ever had .

Evening came immediately and with it the fresh scent of pines

from the near woods.

Everything went perfectly, until something strange happened. It

was about 1 a.m. when I was woke up by a horrible noise from

the woods.I thought it was a bear or something else so I felt

asleep again. It didnt spent 3 minutes when that strange noise

was made but now it was accompanied by my name. In that

moment I could feel a chill run down my spine, yet I answered

to that creepy noise:

Who are you or what are you?

Although I was said not to go or to talk to anybody I could feel

desperation in that voice or noise, so I went downstairs.

I didnt put a coat on me or some shoes because that would have

woken up my grandpa so I went out of the house just like I was

in bed, with my white silky dress.

I was running in the woods and I was a little bit nervous to see

what was going on. After some minutes of running I looked into

the forest and I could see some eyes, just like the lurk was

behind that every spooky tree. I glanced over my shoulder and I

could also see some eyes behind me, but they werent at all

important like those from the woods.

Paying attention to what was in the forest I accidentally felt

down on that unbelievable soft grass, but just in the right place,

because from that place was coming that noise.

After I felt down , I looked up an saw that the moon was comingout from those dark clouds which were covering the sky. I

immediately felt a chill running down my spine and I felt like

my powers grew up . It was so good.

Then I looked around but I couldnt see anything, but grass and

some trees. Wanting to see why I felt down I looked down and I

saw a beautiful violet necklace!

Whats with you here, my beautiful?

Heeelp!

Whos there?, I was looking in the forest

No, here. Look at me!

I immediately did what the necklace had said jut like a

marionette listening to who is manipulating it.

As I was staring at it, the necklace started to shine so bright and

in those sparkles I could see frames of Lindas life.

She was reading from an old book in Mokalys room and while

she was doing that, the room started to change into what Linda

was wanting. In another memory she was disappearing from

Mokalys house and appearing here where she was flying, but

she was doing this late in the night, just beneath Moon. Then she

making roses to grow up, trees to become bigger and greener.

In other imagine she was receiving this beautiful necklace fromMokaly.

These are Lindas memories!, the necklace said

Yes. I was given to protect Linda, but also help another good

wizards or witches.

But how,

I didnt know how but I was interrupted from my conversation

with the gorgeous necklace.

Knowing that he was a bad guy I turned around and yelled.

While I was screaming I used the levitation spell which made

him fly and took him by surprise , so he couldnt react.

For a second his face seemed very familiar although I hadnt

seen him before that moment. He was a handsome boy, although

he was younger than me and he was black, but knowing that he

was a bad one made me reject the idea of sympathizing him.

So your powers grew?! Hmmmm, quite interesting! This

happened just to one more person: YOUR DARLING

GRANDPA!,hearing that he wasnt at all scared I became

crazier.

I lifted him very high, let him fall , but not letting him free as Iwas using the manipulation spell and right a centimeter away

from ground I caught him.

He was so white, that you could confuse him with a ghost,

although at his origins he was as black as night. In that moment

person. To make him more scared I said:

After my words were said I could remember when I last saw

him. That moment was in one of my fantasies , on the first day, I

found that my grandpa was alive.

Oh my goodness! Oh This is real!, I said just before I could

control myself

Seeing how scared he was I laughed a little, but then I came

back to my problems.

too cruel to me. Moreover being black, was a reason for them to

treat me like the worst people on earth!
