The Honorable Marc A.R Bean JP is a businessman, entrepreneur and former political leader. He was elected into the House of Assembly December 2010, as the MP for Constituency 26, Warwick South Central.

He was appointed to the Cabinet of the Premier the Hon. Paula Cox, JP MP, as the Minister of Environ-ment, Planning and Infrastructure Strategy in Novem-ber 2011. On June 11, 2008, he was appointed to the Senate as the Junior Minister of Tourism, Transport, Environment, and Sport, and later, the Ministry of Telecommunications, E-Commerce and Energy.

Marc is the CEO of Axum Ltd, a licensed Bookmaker, the Chairman of Solidus Ltd, a Bermuda based Financial Technology company specializing in payments, a Director of law firm Smith Bean and Co. and SBC Corporate Services Ltd, a licensed Bermu-da Corporate Service Provider.

Marc was born in Paget, Bermuda. He attended Southampton Glebe Primary School, The Berkeley Institute, Delaware State University, Bailbrook College, and flight school in Atlanta, Georgia. A qualified air traffic control specialist, he also possess-es an FAA commercial pilot's license, with multi-engine, and instrument ratings. He is currently studying for his chartered management accountancy designation.

His contribution to the community is varied. He has served on the Bermuda Independence Commission, the Telecommunications Commission, the Public Transportation Board, The Public Vehicle Service Licensing Board, the Air Transport Licensing Board, and as the Deputy- Chairman of the West End Development Company (WEDCO). He is a member of various fraternal organizations namely Abercorn #123 GRI and Somers Isle 1503 GRS, and the founding President of the Ethopian World Federation Inc Emperor Menelik II, Local #4 Chapter.

His work received public recognition when, in 2006, he received the Queens Certificate and Badge of Honour.

He previously worked in the Dept. of Marine and Ports, and as the Recruitment and Enrolment Manager for the Mirrors program. He also served as the Government's Advisor on CARICOM Affairs within the Office of the Premier.

In December 2012, Mr Bean was elected as the Party Leader of the Bermuda Progressive Labour Party, and retired from politics in November 2016, having rebuilt the Party and laying the foundation for the historic election victory in July 2017.

Marc is married to barrister and attorney, Simone Smith-Bean. Marc is also the proud father of 3 daugh-ters, 1 son and grandfather to 1 granddaughter.
