Automatic wireless transfer of the recorded data when the aircraft is on ground shortly after landing via cellular/ PCS phone communication means and via internet network up to the ground base station computer for data processing. A procedure to recover the data in case of a failure of the system should be defined.

A policy to recover the data has to be put in place whithin the maintenance and/or flight safety department taking into account the recording capacity of each media. The procedure should also consider the limited read/write cycle of these media.

The data recovery process should be secured through a useful and understood procedure in order to minimize:
The amount of lost data
The waiting period before processing

A technical log should be established with:
Disc or Card identification (date in/out , aircraft MSN…)
The number of retrieved flights
The status of cards or disks
And don’t forget to format them before putting them
back on board
