Overview

July 26, 2014 – Silver Line

• 40% of Fairfax Connector service changed

in response to Silver Line

• No changes to most Reston Internal Bus

System (RIBS) service at that time

• New Herndon service: routes 928 and 937

• New Tysons service: routes 422, 423, and

424 (Circulator)

• Modified Tysons service: routes 493, 494,

and 495 (Express Lanes)

• Proposal adjusts route alignments to

provide more direct connections in

response to travel pattern changes, and

improve on-time performance

connections between neighborhoods, job

centers, Metrorail, and other destinations

• Routes included in the proposal:

– Reston-Herndon: 551, 928, 937, and RIBS

– Tysons: 422, 423, 424, 493, 494, and 495

• Routes 422, 423, and 424 (Circulator):

– More direct, two-way connections to and from

Silver Line for most passengers

– Reduce bus travel time for most passengers

• Routes 493, 494, and 495 (Express
