This cgnnérns a boarding incident which tookplace 12/13/72, wherein Wilt Chamberlain,Los Angeles Lakerbasketball team star, made in-flammatory remarks prior to boarding a T�ansWorld Airlines TWA! flight on route_from ChicagmIllinois, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. _Theseremarks were brought about after a lenghthyplane delay,.and the passengers being subjectedto a pre-boarding screening by Customs SecurityOfficers. Customs Air Security Supervisor toldOfficers" at gate no violation and to adviseTWA officials of remarks and verify that TWAdid not regard remarks as threat to aircraft.TWA Passenger's Service representative on sceneadvised and requested to speak with Chamberlainand Laker's coach relative to the remarks he hadmade. Chamberlain, when confronted in jetway,became belligerent, used profane and obscenelanguage and left the boarding area. Chamberlainsubsequently flew to Philadelphia via UnitedAir1ines.' U. S. Customs did not notify ChicagoOffice at time of incident since they did not fconsider remarks possible violation. There�were no Bureau Agents present at time ofg¥%idggt.
