SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

United Airlines Flight 93 de parte d the ga te on time at 8:01 am and afte r taxiing intoposition, departed from Ne wa rk at 8:42 am, with thirty seven pass enge rs, two pilots, andfive flight attendants. Reports from family mem bers and friends who talked to passengers(using GTE Airphones and cell ph ones) on the flight indicate the passengers knew theirplane was going to be used in a terrorist attack, and attempted to overcome th e hijackersand thwart the planned attack. UA Flight 93 crashed in Somerset county, PA, with nosurvivors, at 10:02 am , Tuesday, September 11 , 2001.UA Flight 93 was hijacked by four individuals identified as[ Ziad Samir Jarrah (Seat IB),Saeed Alghamd i (Seat 3B), Ah m ed Ibrah im A . Al-Haznawi (Seat 6B) and Ah me d Ab du llahAlnami (Seat 3C)], armed w ith cutting instrum ents and stating that they had a boxcontaining a bom b. Based on the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data record er thehijacking of UAFlight # 93 was initiated at 9:28 am and terminated at 10:02 am uponcrashing into the ground at over 500miles per hour.The hijackers of UA Flight 93 were led by Jarrah, who is believed to be an original member
