This free December 2nd, 2013, morning program hosted/sponsored by the Los Angeles Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) deals with the legal and real world export controls and compliance for academic institutions, labs, federally funded research and development centers. More and more of these organizations are getting in touch with their obligations under the Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. However, many still are not clear on the consequences of non-compliance and the associated exposure, liability and Risk.This interactive and practical application focused outreach, education and training session addresses key aspects of export controls and the consequences of getting it right and wrong with related case studies including the U.S. Department of Justice Indictment of Dr. John Reece Roth.
