CR was selected for the behavior change
project because his teacher expressed
concern that he wasnt staying in his seat
which may be impeding his ability to learn.
This program will help to increase CRs
compliance with sitting in his seat, which
should help CR successfully complete hisassignments.
The function of the behavior is attention
seeking and avoidance/escape

Description of Intervention Procedures:
Tally Chart: CR will be taught to use a tally chart to self-regulatehis own behavior.
Reinforcement Procedures: In order to increase the amount oftime CR stays in his seat, the following procedure has been putinto place. When CR shows a listening body (sits in seat correctly, listening, and hands to self) he will earn a positive tally. Every 10positive tallies are worth one pom pom for his behavior reward
jar (class party when full). This procedure was chosen because itwas hypothesized that attention seeking and escape were thefunctions of his behavior. This will allow CR to gain positiveattention from his peers from earning the class a party.
Punishment Procedures: If CR is not in his seat he will earn anegative tally on his tally sheet. For every 10 negative tallies hewill drop a level.

How can CR gain teacher attention in amore positive way?
What can be done to decrease theneed for teacher attention?
How can I help CR to use intrinsic
motivation instead of rewards?
