When short circuit fault or earth fault occurs, fault indicators in front of the fault point will flash or turn flag

to indicate the fault, the indicators behind the fault point will not indicate the fault. The operator can identify

the fault area (between the last flashed indicator and the first non-flashed indicator) by following the flashed

indicators. It can help operator to find out the fault point quickly.

The Di/Dt principle is used for fault determination and indication. When fault occurs, the current flow in the

line will increase suddenly, the internal magnetic field will change, and the fault indicator will determine the

fault based on surge value and duration of the short circuit current .

CREAT is the first company to detect the earth fault with signal injection method by assistance of a device

called signal source, and the earth fault accuracy is improved greatly after using the signal source.

The fault indicator is designed and tested as per IEEE 495-2007 international standard.

FI-3A2F is used in overhead line system.

I t i s c o m p o s e d o f c l a m p s t r u c t u r e , b o d y a n d

transparent cover. The clamp structure is made

of special stainless steel with low magnetic loss,

and its surface processed by Zn-Ni electroplating

technology improves its corrosion resistance

performance. All of printed circuit boards are sealed

in the upside of the fault indicator body by resin

epoxy, the environment withstanding level of fault

indicator will be thus improved. The fault indicator

can be remotely operated by connecting the APP

via communication adaptor. A 433MHz or 2.4GHz

radio model integrated in the fault indicator for

communication application.The high visible LED put

on the side surface of the battery container ensures

the long visible distance. The installation ring under

the transparent cover can be easily linked to the

hook of hot stick.

Indicate permanent and temporary fault, 6 LED indication, blue LED

indicate temporary fault and red LED indicate permanent fault, manual,

current and time reset. Communication is not available. 0X is reset time.

FI-3A2F/WEquip the 433MHz/2,4GHz radio model in fault indicator, parameters can

be set by APP.

FI-3C1O SHORT CIRCUIT FAULT INDICATORFI-3C1O fault indicator is used for short circuit

fault detection in the underground system which

installed in RMU or switchgear cabinet. The fault

can be remote indication via optical fiber.

FI-3C1O fault indicator consists of clamp structure

and body. The fault indicator adopts low power

consumption design with the power managed

by micro processor, so the battery can sustain

about 1000 hours flashing time. The environment

withstanding level can be greatly improved after

the battery and circuit board being sealed in the

enclosure by resin epoxy. The installation ring is

designed next to the body, making the structure

small and compact.

FI-3P3O INDICATORFI-3P3O indicator is installed in the RMU and

pad-mounted switchgear, it used for the remote

indication of underground fault. The FI-3P3O

fault indicator can remotely indicate the fault by

connecting the detectors with optical fiber as well

as transfering the data by electric signal via dry

contacts.

The potential-free connection between short

circuit detectors and earth detector to the FI-

3P3O indicator is done by optical fibers. A manual

reset button is set at the front of panel, by long

press, the battery status of indicator can be

checked. One 3.6V battery is assembled in the

fault indicator for power supply, ensuring that

the panel indicator can work 1000 hours without

maintenance.

EFI-3E1O EARTH FAULT INDICATOREFI-3E1O earth fault indicator is used for the

earth fault detection, which considers the

protection setting of distribution system, using

the zero-sequence current and duration time in

the tripping principle. When earth fault occurs,

the unbalance of three phases will cause the zero-

sequence current, and when the zero-sequence

current reach the setting value and duration, the

fault indicator will indicate the fault.

By using clip CT structure, the current detection

accuracy is improved. It is convenient to check the

fault feeder by local LED.

FLS-ST/AU SUB TRANSMITTERThe FLS-ST/AU sub transmitter is used to receive

and transfer signal in fault locating system. There

is a RF001 wireless communication model in the

sub transmitter, which is matched with the wireless

model in FI-3A6W/1 fault indicator. It can receive

the fault signal from fault indicator by 433MHz

wireless radio, after translating the signal as

per inner protocol, sub transmitter will send the

message to customer or center station by GPRS /

GSM net via inner model.

The FLS-ST/AU sub transmitter has a solar panel

to charge for inner capacitor bank. The main

supply of power is the capacitor bank, whose

inner alternated battery can keep 15 days power

supplying if the capacitor is power off and the

sunshine is not good. FLS-ST/AU can adopt wireless

setting, the special setting tool can be connected

with the sub transmitter by wireless model, which

has its parameters set by software installed in the

computer, no external wire, convenient and reliable.
