PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES Conferences will be held November 5th and 6th from 3-7pm. Elementary school conference scheduling forms will be been sent home with your child. Please return them by October 27th to allow time for scheduling. Middle school fall conferences are scheduled with all of our school families and the student is included in the conference. We believe it is important to include the students in this process, as they are a crucial part of the discussion and goal setting. The conference also includes a time for parents to speak to the teacher privately. Conference scheduling forms have been sent home with your child; please return them by October 24th to allow time for scheduling.

Father Marty came to bless the 2nd graders and teach them about Holy water and its connection to baptism. He demonstrated how the water is blessed and even left some for the 2nd graders to use to bless themselves. Thank you Father Marty. We enjoy your visits! VIRTUE OF THE MONTH: PATIENCE Each month the students of Father Marquette Catholic School are focusing on living out a new virtue. For October, we are learning about Patience. To be patient means to bear a present difficulty calmly. This could mean waiting for a turn on the iPad, not getting upset when others make mistakes, or quietly raising your hand and waiting to be called on. Here is a prayer you can pray with your family: Dear God, Help me wait without complaining, to see you in my neighbor, and to let Your grace enter this moment so that I may not lose my patience. Amen.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR® The Scholastic Book Fair® will be held at our elementary school November 3rd-7th. Each class has set up a time for the students to visit the Book Fair. You may either send in money on the designated day or your child will create a wish list of books. Checks may be written out to Father Marquette Home and School. Remember there is a sales tax on all items. The teachers will also be making their classroom wish lists. Win a gift basket loaded with $100 worth of Scholastic Books and Prizes by visiting the fair during conference times only! Can’t attend? I PAD COVER DONATIONS: Families that would like to donate protective covers or styluses for the school’s new i-pads can credit their donation to fulfill volunteer hours. The rate is $10 = 1 hour. You can make these donations through Angela at [email protected]. No Longer Heating Elementary Packed Lunch Items Parents, please be advised: Despite the practice in the past, we will not continue to microwave food that elementary students bring in their packed lunches. Due to the illegality of us heating food brought in by children, we are no longer able to accommodate warming up these items. We suggest heating up at home and using a thermos if warm food is desired. Thank you for your understanding as we move to comply with these safety standards for elementary ages.
