Below are a couple of resources from the Diocese on the upcoming election. The first document is from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops named "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship."
You can find this document and other resources at https://www.usccb.org/offices/justice-peace-human-development/forming-consciences-faithful-citizenship.
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of engagement in the political process as a means of putting our faith into action. Our
faith calls us to bring the best of ourselves and our faith to the public square - and yet today, many shy away from such involvement because our national and local conversations are filled with vitriol and harsh language, often directed at people themselves. When personal attacks replace honest debate, no one wins. This kind of attack, no matter the reason, only serves to divide our communities further.
As Catholics, we must model a better way. We invite you to join the Civilize It campaign by taking a pledge as a way to promote civility, love our neighbors, and build community. It's about civility, clarity, and compassion. Civilize It is about making room in your heart for those with whom
you disagree. Our faith teaches us to recognize each person as a beloved child of God and respond in love to that reality. Civilize It is a non-partisan call to focus on the dignity of all people, even when we disagree, and to put faith in action by bearing witness to a better way forward. To learn more about Civilize It and make your pledge, visit: https://www.wearesaltandlight.org/civilize-it.
According to Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Church, let us form our conscience and pledge to civilize our political discourse. God bless, Fr. Browning

Reconciliation: Confessions are heard every Tuesday 5:30pm until all heard, and Saturday 1:00pm until all heard.
Baptism: Children of all ages and adults are welcome to the sacrament of Baptism. Baptism for children is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month at 1:00pm. Please call Sharon Hall at the parish office to make arrangements. Adults seeking Baptism should contact Linda McEwan at [email protected].
Matrimony: Baptized Catholics are called to be married in the Catholic Church. Arrangements should be made at least six months in advance.

The practice of hanging a rosary or a religious medal off of the
rearview mirror of one’s car is a fairly popular custom across many
cultures. While there is no particular rule approving or condemning
this practice, we should also be mindful of the respect and reverence
due to religious objects and devotional items (i.e. sacramentals).
An important point to consider would be the reason why one chooses to place a rosary or religious medal in
our cars. Is it a reminder of the protection and intercession of Mary and the saints? Does it encourage us to be
mindful of God’s presence, even in such a mundane task as driving? Is it an outward expression of our more
private devotions?
One advantage of having a rosary or religious medal in our cars is that it can also serve as a reminder to pray
when we travel, asking for protection for ourselves and for other motorists or commuters. Certainly, invoking the
protection and prayers of the saints is a wonderful practice for families, helping to reinforce our belief in the
communion of saints and the care and concern we owe to one another. ©LPi

First Reading: The vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the
house of Israel, and the people of Judah
are his cherished plant; he looked for
judgment, but see, bloodshed!
for justice, but hark, the outcry! (Is 5:7)
Psalm: The vineyard of the Lord is the house
of Israel. (Ps 80)
Second Reading: Keep on doing what you have learned
and received and heard and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you.
(Phil 4:6-9)
Gospel: “Therefore, I say to you,
the kingdom of God will be taken away
from you and given to a people that will
produce its fruit.” (Mt 21:43)

My oldest two children took piano lessons when
then were younger. In fact, it was because my
oldest wanted to learn to play so badly that we
purchased a piano. He would use it for practice
during his few years of
lessons, and then my
daughter took up the
instrument. After a few
years of lessons for each,
restlessness set in and a
type of indifference took
over. The lessons and the
practicing came to
an end.
My youngest had not
e x p r e s s e d m u c h
interest in piano when
he was younger. Then
when he was a teenager,
he asked for lessons. He
began to play and now he plays even for fun and
to relax. When his siblings try to play, they are stuck
with the truth that those days are gone and since
they gave it up years ago, they can no
longer really play. In many ways, they were given a
gift, but since they did not use and cultivate it, they
lost it.
God gives us gifts every
day and we too often act
like those gifts will simply
always be there. The truth
is, unlike God Himself,
many of those gifts are
not eternal. If we fail to
acknowledge them and
put them to use, we risk
losing them in the end.
What a shame. What gifts
might be slowly slipping
away from each of us
due to our lack of interest
and indifference? They
might not be there if and
when we change our minds.

The Mysteries of the Rosary Have you ever wanted to explore the
life of Jesus and Mary in a deeper way?
Each decade highlights a sacred episode:
Joyful Mysteries: Through the Annunciation
(1) and Visitation (2), we get a glimpse
at Mary’s joyful yes to God. She gives
birth to Jesus in the Nativity (3). Mary
and Joseph present their son at the
temple (4) and bring him there again
when he is a teenager (5).
Luminous Mysteries: Jesus is baptized in the Jordan River (1)
before Mary gives him a nudge to his first miracle at Cana (2).
Jesus proclaims the Gospel (3), is transfigured on Mount Tabor
(4), and institutes the Eucharist (5). The light is shining!
Sorrowful Mysteries: Jesus prays in agony in Gethsemane (1),
knowing his hour of suffering has come. After his betrayal and
arrest, Jesus is scourged (2) and crowned with thorns (3). He
carries his cross (4), and Mary stands at the foot of the cross
as he is crucified (5).
Glorious Mysteries: Christ is risen in glory (1)! After appearing
to those he loves, he ascends into heaven (2). Jesus’ followers
receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (3). Mary, unaffected by
original sin, is assumed body and soul into heaven (4), where
she is crowned queen, humble mother of Christ the King (5).
