ADMISSION NOTICE-VThe candidates bearing following Entrance Test Roll Nos have been

selected provisionally (in open merit and reserved categories) against residual Free & self-financed vacancies for admission to M.A. Education and M.Ed Programme (Day & Evening batch) session 2013 (Main Campus, South Campus, Anantnag and Govt. College of Education, M.A. Road, Srinagar) on the basis of Counselling held on 26.04.2013, 27.04.2013, 13.05.2013 & 30.05.2013. The candidates selected in open merit shall have to produce original certificates of qualifying examination. B u d g a m , June 1: Peo-ples Demo-cratic Front p r e s i d e n t Hakim Yasin on Saturday claimed that the Gov-

ernment of India, instead of taking effective steps to resolve Kashmir issue, com-pounded it further by repeat-edly refusing to put a balm on the wounds of Kashmiris for the past 60 years. “There is a powerful lobby in the Central government that oppose every Kashmir related move of the Prime Minister and don’t let him take effective and concrete steps to resolve Kashmir issue,” said Hakim Yasin while addressing a public meeting at Kachwari

Hakim Yasin endorsed the Separatists’ grouse that the central government had never showed seriousness when it came to resolving Kashmir issue. “Hurriyat is witness to the incidents when the central government openly backed out from their prom-ises and displayed non-seri-ous attitude. If at all it (union government) is really sincere, it should take serious steps for initiating a meaningful and result oriented process of talks and invite the separat-ist leadership on the table,” he said. He appealed the Prime Minister of India to start a meaningful dialogue with Hurriyat Conference.

Langate youth found hanging

Srinagar, June 1: A youth was founded dead in mysterious cir-cumstances in north Kashmir’s Langate area on Saturday morn-ing. While family of the youth and local MLA has termed it as a murder, the police, however, said they are ascertaining the cause of death. The family of 24- year-old Farooq Ahmad Shabangi of Malikpora Langate alleged that he had left home in morning for grazing cattle in forests. “We were shocked to see him hanged there. This is clear-ly a murder and police should unravel the conspiracy behind it,” the family alleged. Talking to Greater Kash-mir, Superintendent of Police Handwara, Muhammad Aslam Choudhary said they have start-ed inquest proceedings into the matter. “At this juncture, it would premature to say whether it is a suicide or murder,” Aslam added. Meanwhile, MLA Langate Er Rashid has condemned what he termed the “brutal and cow-ardly act by some unknown miscreants” and demanded thor-ough probe into the matter. Rashid handed his family an amount of Rs 30,000 from Joint Effort Trust (JET).

Sopore, June 1: The traders Saturday staged protest demon-strations against Sopore Munici-pal Council for what they alleged that town has been turned into a garbage hub. The shopkeepers downed their shutters and sat on dharna for at least three hours. They were led by President Traders Federation Sopore who alleged that the local MLA has ignored them. They alleged that at MLA’s behest, the Coun-cil is not taking any interest in removing the garbage from the town. The traders said that they met Municipal Council employ-ees several times. They threat-ened indefinite strike in case the garbage was not removed from the market. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sopore and senior police officials pacified the protesting traders.

Unscheduled power cuts in tral villages Srinagar, June 1: Inhabitants of Saimuh and Rathsuna vil-lages of south Kashmir’s Tral area on Saturday expressed resentment over unscheduled power cuts there. A delegation from these villages said due to unscheduled power cuts they face immense problems. “We receive power supply only for few hours with frequent cuts. We appeal the Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter,” they said.

10th volume of ‘Aina Numa’ released

Srinagar: The 10th volume of ‘Aina Numa’, a compilation of writings of noted journalist late Shamim Ahmad Shamim was released here on Saturday. Compiled by his sister Qurat-ul-Ain, the book was released by noted journalist and author Praful Bidwai attended by jour-nalists, poets, academicians and students.

Dr Sharma was appointed to the post vide order no 155-ASH of 2013 dated May 23, 2013. He joined the Sheep Husbandry department as veterinary assistant surgeon in 1977. During his career span-ning over 36 years, he worked on various posts including Assistant Research officer, Disease Investiga-tion Laboratory Kartholi Jammu, Junior Scientist Pashmina Goat Farm Upshi Leh, SDO Kalakote, Deputy Director Upshi Pashmina Goat Project Leh, District SH Offi-cer Reasi and Samba. He has also worked as Jt Director Farms and Extension Jammu respectively.

Srinagar, June 1: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has set aside the selection of nine ISM Medi-cal Officers and directed the government to consider nine deserving doctors as Medical Officers against them. A bench of Justice Hasnain Massodi while dis-posing a clubbed matter of several Writ Petitions titled Dr Nazir Ahmad Dar Versus State, directed the Health and Medical Education department to consider the appointment of nine doc-tors who were represented by senior counsel Bashir Ahmad Bashir. The Court set aside selection and engagement of Medical Officers: Dr Nighat Shafi Shah (PHC Chundina), Dr Syed Sibtul Hussain (PHC Lar), Abdul Majeed (PHC Batwani), Dr Yasmeen Jan (PHC Sriwarpora), Benazir Ali

(PHC Wanigam), Manzoor Ahmad Khanday (PHC Hari Watno), Bilal Ahmad Wani (PHC Gulmarg), Bilal Ahmad Wani (PHC Kalan-tara) and Rabia Malik (PHC Chuntimullah). The court, however, asked the government
