Hakim Yasin endorsed the Separatists’ grouse that the central government had never showed seriousness when it came to resolving Kashmir issue. “Hurriyat is witness to the incidents when the central government openly backed out from their prom- ises and displayed non-seri- ous attitude. If at all it (union government) is really sincere, it should take serious steps for initiating a meaningful and result oriented process of talks and invite the separat- ist leadership on the table,” he said. He appealed the Prime Minister of India to start a meaningful dialogue with Hurriyat Conference. Langate youth found hanging Srinagar, June 1: A youth was founded dead in mysterious cir- cumstances in north Kashmir’s Langate area on Saturday morn- ing. While family of the youth and local MLA has termed it as a murder, the police, however, said they are ascertaining the cause of death. The family of 24- year-old Farooq Ahmad Shabangi of Malikpora Langate alleged that he had left home in morning for grazing cattle in forests. “We were shocked to see him hanged there. This is clear- ly a murder and police should unravel the conspiracy behind it,” the family alleged. Talking to Greater Kash- mir, Superintendent of Police Handwara, Muhammad Aslam Choudhary said they have start- ed inquest proceedings into the matter. “At this juncture, it would premature to say whether it is a suicide or murder,” Aslam added. Meanwhile, MLA Langate Er Rashid has condemned what he termed the “brutal and cow- ardly act by some unknown miscreants” and demanded thor- ough probe into the matter. The shopkeepers downed their shutters and sat on dharna for at least three hours. They were led by President Traders Federation Sopore who alleged that the local MLA has ignored them. They alleged that at MLA’s behest, the Coun- cil is not taking any interest in removing the garbage from the town. The traders said that they met Municipal Council employ- ees several times. They threat- ened indefinite strike in case the garbage was not removed from the market. Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sopore and senior police officials pacified the protesting traders. Unscheduled power cuts in Tral villages Srinagar, June 1: Inhabitants of Saimuh and Rathsuna vil- lages of south Kashmir’s Tral area on Saturday expressed resentment over unscheduled power cuts there. A delegation from these villages said due to unscheduled power cuts they face immense problems. “We receive power supply only for few hours with frequent cuts. Unscheduled power cuts in tral villages Srinagar, June 1: Inhabitants of Saimuh and Rathsuna vil-lages of south Kashmir’s Tral area on Saturday expressed resentment over unscheduled power cuts there. A delegation from these villages said due to unscheduled power cuts they face immense problems. “We receive power supply only for few hours with frequent cuts. We appeal the Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter,” they said.
