FastPAC™ and FastPAC Premium® were originally designed and introduced in 2011. These products were some of the first, next generation PAC products designed specifically for optimal performance in mercury capture. Several features of the product were tuned to achieve a step change in mercury capture performance.

We continue to innovate and incorporate improved features into the FastPAC™ platform. In 2013, we collaborated with experts in ash quality and re-use and incorporated new properties into the the FastPAC™ platform aimed at preserving and improving the marketability of fly ash.

» Greater consistency of carbon in fly ash due to steep capture curve

» Improved foam stability relative to other PAC products due to reduced carbon content

» Rapid achievement of foam stability

» Greater reactivity in various flue gas environments

» Rapid capture and oxidation kinetics

» Steep capture curve allowing active engineering control

» Up to 60% improved performance over generation 1 PAC products

» More adaptable and responsive to different flue gas environments

» Proven in over 100 full scale plant demonstrations

FastPAC™: Optimized for Your Compliance ChallengeFor many PAC suppliers, mercury control is one of several competing market initiatives. At ADA Carbon Solutions YOU are our core strategic focus!

We continue to engineer advancements into the FastPAC™ platform:

SO3 Tolerance: FastPAC Premium-80™ is engineered to perform in flue gas environments with high levels of SO3. We have experience in flue gas environments with greater than 25 ppm of SO3.

DSI Optimized: More utilities are using DSI to control acid gases. It is generally known that the use of DSI can impair PAC performance. Our FastPAC™ products mitigate the deleterious impact of DSI.

High Temperature Applications: Traditional PACs begin to dete-riorate in performance at flue gas temperatures over 325° F. Fast-PAC™ has been tested at temperatures in excess of 400° and shown improved performance characteristics over other PAC products.

Improved ESP Performance: ESP performance is highly dependent on the resistivity of the fly ash. PAC products can vary in the impact they have on resistivity. Due to our focus on mercury capture, we can tailor the resistivity of our PAC to perform best with your ESP.

Optimized for use with a Fuel Additive: We have designed products based upon the FastPAC™ platform specifically for use in situations where a flue gas additive for oxidation such as CaBr2 is used.

This test was developed internally to achieve comparative performance data of different PAC products that had greater predictive capability and correlation with full scale field results. The test has been developed and improved over the last four years, and demonstrates a strong correlation between the test and full scale performance. This test offers a much improved alternative over traditional PAC specifications to ensure consistent and reliable performance.

Expertise. Reliability. Compliance.

Reliable, consistent performance is the name of the game in compliance. Traditional PAC specifications are based upon surrogate measurements that do not correlate to mercury capture. With the advent of advanced PAC products, a small variation in the efficacy of the PAC can result in a large swing in cost of compliance. Due to our focus on the mercury control market, we have developed a QA/QC protocol specifically focused on performance in flue gas environments. If you have tested the performance of alternative PAC products in your plant, the next challenge is to ensure consistent performance over time. Ask us about our approach to ensure consistent and reliable PAC performance in your plant.
