To pinpoint the origins of the company we have to go back to 1892, when a young man called Ramón Murtra founded a small textile business in Granollers with a few handoperated looms. With the support of his family, he helped the business take off at the beginning of the 20th century, consolidating its activity as a manu-facturer of industrial tape and rapidly becoming the leader in the sector.

Right from the outset, Murtra has sought to develop better ways of doing things, striving for perfection and establishing it as the model to follow and the basis for undertaking new challenges. This can be seen through all products it has deve-loped since 1892 until the present. Innovation applied to processes and products is the driving force that, throughout its history, has guided a textile-based pro-duction which has, however, successfully evolved towards the development of new products and markets. Murtra continues to seek new lines, new business opportunities and improvements in its processes.

Murtra is more than just a company with a long tradition in the textile sector and in the manufacture of industrial tapes. For more than a century, five generations of entrepreneurs have successfully acted as the drivers of the business and, at the same time, as guides when it comes to identifying the major advances that have helped it position itself as a benchmark in the global textile sector.

Para ubicar los orígenes de la empresa hemos de remontarnos a 1892, cuando un joven llamado Ramón Murtra, fundó una pequeña empresa textil en Granollers con unos pocos telares manuales. Con el apoyo de su familia hizo despegar la empresa a principios del siglo XX, consolidando su actividad como fabricante de cintas indus-triales y convirtiéndose rápidamente en líder del sector.

Murtra ha buscado desde el primer momento desarrollar mejores maneras de hacer las cosas, buscar la perfección y establecerla como un modelo a seguir desde el cual asumir nuevos retos. Un hecho constatado a través de todos sus productos desa-rrollados desde el año 1892 hasta nuestros días. La innovación aplicada a procesos y productos es el motor que ha guiado a lo largo de su historia una producción de base textil pero que ha sabido evolucionar hacia el desarrollo de nuevos productos y mercados. Murtra persevera en la búsqueda de nuevas líneas, nuevas oportuni-dades de negocio y la mejora de sus procesos.

Murtra es algo más que una compañía con una larga tradición en el sector textil y la fabricación de cintas industriales. A lo largo de más de un siglo, cinco generaciones de empresarios han sabido ejercer de motor y, al mismo tiempo, de guía a la hora de vislumbrar los grandes avances que la han llevado a posicionarse como un referen-te del sector textil a nivel global.
