isaac newton AcademyARK Schools and Skanska were required to deliver an exciting and elegant design to match the aspirations of the academy for which FastClad was seen as the ideal solution. FastClad was used to reproduce the brick bonding patterns required without the cost of brickwork support, bed reinforcement and skilled bricklayers.

Ramada encore hotelRamada Encore was built as a completely new hotel on the outskirts of Warrington. VolkerFitzspatrick built the 103 bedroom hotel using a mixture of lightweight concrete and steel technologies. ACS FastClad was the ideal lightweight brick slip cladding system to accompany this technology and create the finished brick effect building as designed by the architect.

lancaster universityGalliford Try set out to build the new academy building at Lancaster University. The architect’s drawings incorporated vast brick soffits at second and fourth floor levels. Due to cost and design difficulties, precast brick panels were not an option on this project. ACS stepped forward with FastClad to provide a light and economical solution to create this remarkable result.

achieve both of these aspects.

Installation Guide

01Prior to installation, check to ensure the 50x50 mm studs are structurally sound & at a maximum of 400mm centres. Also check that there are adequate return studs.

02Starting from one corner, the FastClad corner profile should be fixed through the thin top flange of both faces using a total of three screws.

03Check that the FastClad corner profile islevel on both faces.

04Install standard units from corner to corner ensuring that courses remain level & the correct course height is maintained. It is not necessary for each strip to end on a stud. Some additional bracing may be needed, e.g. around horizontal expansion joints. The boards should be well staggered & screw fixed into every stud.

Page 11: FastClad brochure

06Cills, Arches and other special details can be incorporated throughout the installation.

05FastClad profiles can be cut on site using a diamond tipped angle grinder or masonry saw. Profiles can be cut at mortar joints with a standard hand saw.

08For speed and ease, apply a proprietarymortar with a mortar pointing system.

07Where a profile is to abut a window, door frame or a trim, apply a strip of coloured sealant to seal the panels.
