The increasingly elaborate events require heavy equipment to be driven onto the field to construct complex stages, video walls, lighting and sound systems. This along with large crowds of fans moving across the field, the danger of contamination from spilled liquids and debris can cause irreparable damage to the turf. And with such an aggressive event schedule, ease and speed of installation and removal of the event flooring is critical. THE POWER OF THE PANELFor Gillette Stadium, the Matrax 4x4 HD event flooring system is a critical element for effectively and efficiently managing their aggressive event schedule. Fully drivable, durable and robust, yet lightweight, easy to install and remove, the Matrax system is engineered to handle heavy construction equipment and create a safe, trip-free flooring surface for fans.

Constructed of high-density polyethylene, the panels utilize a vertical locking system with 4-inch overlapping flanges to interlock individual panels to create a contiguous surface that provides effective load spread. The system is engineered to sustain large cranes, fully-loaded tractor trailers and other wheeled traffic. Molded pegs on the lower lips and corresponding sockets on the upper lips transfer lateral loads between individual panels in all directions, and function as an aligning mechanism for the panels during installation. In addition, the overlapping and interlocking components are engineered to allow thermal expansion and contraction to occur without any interference between the panels, thereby eliminating buckling and creating a consistent, smooth surface -- even in high heat. Each panel has an embossed diamond plate pattern on the top to provide a non-skid surface, as well as solid lower skins that provide a 100 percent contact area with no voids. This feature spreads loads evenly over the entire area of the mat, minimizing the overall load transferred to the turf below.

The Matrax system is lighter and more durable than the system we used in the past. We can drive semi-trucks, fork lifts and loaders all over the floor at any point we want. Time and money are what we save.
