Fashions on Parade has had some great entertainment over the years however it appears that in 2015, we have really hit the jackpot.

This year we are delighted to welcome to our stage the sartorially superior talents of Those Two Girls.

Since launching as a duo in 2014, Lise and Sarah have become the femme fatales of the MC and speaker market, and for good reason.

Offering a fresh and light-hearted approach to any style of event, Those Two Girls are definitely making their mark through doing what they love.

In a previous life, Those Two Girls were tasting success in the tough world of corporate communications.

With a degree in Communica-tion , Lise continues to be an in-demand copywriter, while Sarah, with Theatre and Jour-nalism degrees has worked in PR for a decade.

So with such esteemed cre-dentials, it was only a matter of time before these two

found each other and joined forces to become one of Australia’s most sought-after speaking teams. Not an easy feat!

Holding events such as their Unplugged Panel series, which incidentally sold out 300 seats in 24 hours!, this dynamic duo is bringing a diverse range of guests to the ladies of Brisbane.

And our lucky Fashions on Parade guests will be front and centre to see just how well Lise and Sarah draw on their natural chemistry as long term friends to create an enjoyable and laugh out loud experience.

Based in Brisbane, Lise + Sarah have a collective online following of 20,000+, as well as, I have been reliably in-formed, a penchant for big hair (Sarah). and men in uni-form (Lise).

With a talent for light-hearted banter coupled with a polished and articu-late approach, Those Two Girls are a breath of fresh air for any hosting and speaking requirements, such as MC

Fashions on Parade Spring Stylings - Wish You Were Here!

There’s nothing that makes the Maiocchi team giddier than sending one of their fabulous frocks skipping down the street with its loving new owner to live happily ever after.

Roadtrip, Maiocchi’s Spring Collection, has the makings of a perfect geta-way wardrobe, with sweet retro 1950’s styles, flatter-ing easy to wear jersey staples and cotton work-wear favourites.

Inspiration has been found on the road to childhood dreams and seaside adven-tures.

The styles for the season are fresh, figure flattering and celebrate spring with adventurous colour and print.

The magical of Maiocchi has graced the Fashions on Parade runway for many years and we welcome them back with open arms for 2015.

Maiocchi is an Australian owned company and all gar-ments are designed with affec-tion and manufactured with care right here in Brisbane, Australia.

You really don’t see many labels designing or manufac-turing locally in these compet-itive times and this is just one of Maiocchi’s points of differ-ence.

Featuring exclusive Japanese cottons and custom prints, pieces are personalised with handmade details, quirky touches and delightful tex-tures and trims.

This year Maiocchi’s Spring Collection will feature in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festi-val -10 year Anniversary Pa-rade.

The support we receive from Maiocchi each year is tremen-dous and 2015 will be the second year that Maiocchi will dress our Mistress of Cere-monies so be sure to take note of Tanya’s gorgeous Maiocchi dress on the day.

Visit maiocchi.com.au to see all the stunning fashion Maiocchi has to offer and start getting to know your next beautiful frock.

Behind Every Great Woman is a Fabulous Handbag I am not sure who came up with that quote but let’s not concentrate on detail, we all know its true!

The last bastion of accessoris-ing, your outfit just doesn't come together without a great handbag.

And that is why we are abso-lutely chuffed to welcome Louenhide to Fashions on Parade for 2015.

LOUENHIDE is emerging as a one of Australia’s favourite fashion and accessories labels.

The brand is easily recognised by their range of signature handbags in classic designs coupled with vibrant colour palettes.

They are passionate and com-mitted to creating products that marry their customers’ wants and needs with classical and fashion-forward designs.

In 2014, Louenhide expanded the label to include jewellery and fashion, and the results are just as dazzling as one of their signature bags.

They have been clever in their approach so no matter your shape or size a Louenhide fashion piece fits beautifully and is timeless for many sea-sons to come.

Being local and with a popular Paddington store, Louenhide jumped at the chance to sup-port this year’s event and I know that you’ll show your gratitude by visiting the store or the website: louenhide.com.au to start making your Christmas list!

But hey?! Did you ever need an excuse for a new handbag?

IdleBird’s UPF50+ fashion collection is turning up the heat by changing the way we look at covering up in the sun forever.

This local Brisbane brand offers a touch of luxury that can be worn everyday, with the added benefit of UPF50+ protection - something previ-ously only available in a not particularly fashionable rash shirt.

IdleBird’s clothes offer move-ment and versatility so that you can flit between the beach, poolside, school, the park and the bar and still look your best. And what girl doesn’t want that?!

The high quality UPF50+ fab-rics are incredibly light weight and easy to handle.

They feel luxurious against the skin while still being able to take the wear and tear of a busy lifestyle.

No piece of clothing will ever completely remove the need for sunscreen, a hat or show- stopping sunnies, but where an IdleBird design is covering

you - you'll be ultimately pro-tected.

Making their debut at the 2015 Fashions on Parade, Idlebird will be showing us how to stay stafe in the sun and still feel fun and glamourous.

All the while taking away the worry of sun protection in our harsh Queensland sun.

A big thanks to Idlebird for their support this year and we can’t wait to see you shining bright on the runway.

To view all the gorgeous prod-ucts, visit the website at: www.idlebird.com and start planning a stylish Summer.

Wham! Bam! Oh Amsterdam! We all love something a little different, that special little twist. Enter Scotch & Soda.

Scotch & Soda loves to make great garments that suit every individual. They want people to love their clothes and enjoy wearing them. Scotch & Soda products are rich in detail, high quality but affordable.

Scotch Shrunk was added for Spring Summer 2008. Literally shrinking men’s styles to little brother or son sizes was a completely new take on kids wear, and Shrunk made waves no-one at Scotch had even dared dream of.

This success was soon fol-lowed by the launch of a women’s collection: Maison Scotch entered the market with the Spring/ Summer 2010 collection and it already ac-counts for a large part of the company’s continuous growth.

Little sister R’Belle showed up for Spring/Summer 2011 and will be making its debut as a line at this year’s Fashions on Parade.

So what’s in store?

For Spring Summer 2015 Scotch R’Belle introduces a cast of fairy tale characters.

The journey begins with two carefree wanderers on their way to the coast before intro-ducing a rebellious mermaid who conquers the shimmering seas.

We finish up on the streets of Cuba with a fearsome warrior. Get ready for summer – it’s going to be a colourful and eclectic ride!

Definitely unique and we’re excited to see them on the runway.

ISSUE 3, AUGUST 2015 Inspired by a Summer Lifestyle

Sun-Kissed and Fabulous For Summer

Want to feel beautiful without all the fuss?

If you haven’t come across Bella Lido, you’ve been living under a rock and you’ve been missing out on serious style without sacrificing comfort.

BELLA LIDO... Italian for “beautiful beach” encapsulates a unique, handcrafted collec-tion of elegant flowing cloth-ing, reminiscent of long sum-mer days spent at the beach & warm summer evenings.

The bella lido range, designed by Claire Lonergan, on the picturesque Sunshine Coast has been carefully crafted for women who enjoy casual comfort with an edgy class & style synonymous with her range.

Included within the collection is a wonderful array of fash-ionable footwear and accesso-ries that compliment the range perfectly.

The inspiration for the label is derived from Claire’s love of the beach environment and the lifestyle she is so fortunate to live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Is there any wonder that Claire is so inspired by her surroundings ?!

Within the bella lido range you will find a collection of soft dresses, tops, basics, kaf-tans & beach staples made from the softest of rayon’s, cottons and jersey.

Claire is also responsible for the glorious print designs - the beautiful, bright, vibrant tones and stunning pattern combina-tions are what makes the bella lido range so spectacular.

Each individual item of cloth-ing in the bella lido range is hand finished and the fabric screen printed.

This results in variances in the colour and finish of each piece making every item unique &

original to the wearer.

Enjoy Claire’s beautiful designs as they come down the cat-walk, and each year they are a crowd favourite.

Visit bellalido.com.au or call Claire direct on 0404 018 767

I love it when something be-comes a ‘thing’.

Like back when any clothing item related to sun protection was of the block colour and boring kind so basically we just ignored it and more often then not fried in the sun.

That was not a good thing.

So very happy to say that looking great while still staying safe in the sun is now most definitely a thing. A very good thing!

A big welcome to the fun in the sun market and Fashions on Parade to Sunsoaked.

Sunsoaked is all about pro-tecting yourself in style from the damaging and ageing ef-fects of the sun. Their pieces offer the ultimate sun protec-tion with a UPF 50+ rating whilst giving you the luxury of Italian fabric. Bellisimo!

With a collection of gorgeous swim coordinates, in exclusive prints and stunning solids they will have you well covered.

From swim tops to shorts, skirts and coordinated swimwear, the range from Sunsoaked is carefully constructed and endlessly inter-changeable.

Allowing to you create customised looks to suit your unique needs and tastes – no matter what your style.

Shop online at any time at sunsoaked.com.au and browse through their beautiful collection and get ready to hit the beach.

Welcome aboard Sunsoaked and can’t wait to see those beautiful designs at the big parade.

Dynamic Duo Keeping You on Your Toes Yet another newcomer to the Fashions on Parade stable, abi & joseph , we are excited to get a glimpse of this beautiful range of activewear.

The abi and joseph journey started in Perth Australia in 2006 with a search for a change from the ill-fitting, mass marketed abundance of stretch clothing and exercise wear with neon colours, blaz-ing logos and sporty stripes.

Abi, an ex-dancer and former Pilates instructor and studio owner, wanted to find cloth-ing that could be worn for Yoga and Pilates that crossed over into everyday wear that inspired her to maintain her active lifestyle.

A relocation to Brisbane Aus-tralia in late 2012 and a vision to take the abi and joseph philosophy beyond the Yoga and Pilates community brings us to today and a multi-functional range that covers everyone from the daily run-ner to the gym enthusiast, to the Yoga and Pilates devotee as well as lifestyle pieces that ensure optimal comfort for travel and relaxation.

From runner tanks, to per-fectly cut Pilates pants, to throw over knits, abi and joseph has pieces to inspire every woman to lead an active lifestyle.

The collections feature beauti-ful, feminine styles and unique prints.

Made with only the best natu-ral and technical performance fabrics, abi and joseph design stylish and comfortable active wear pieces to complement a woman’s busy life taking her from every day activities to work out and back again.

Take a look at this exciting activewear label and treat yourself to something a little bit different from the usual gym gear.

to achieve the aspiration to be a friendly and safe, active and healthy, clean and green or vibrant and creative city.

I guess we fit the vibrant and creative vibe!

A big thank you to the Lord Mayor’s Suburban Initiative Fund for the grant of $550 for Fashions on Parade 2015.

Their support is very much appreciated.

Fashions on Parade are very fortunate to have the support of the The Lord Mayor's Sub-urban Initiative Fund through The Gap Ward for 2015.

The Fund supports communi-ty projects that build stronger communities in Brisbane and we are delighted to be recog-nised as such a significant community event.

Projects must contribute to the Brisbane vision, by helping

Urban Hot Shot Wields Gavel for Auction Fun We love shopping, raffles, shopping, prizes, and more shopping.

So put all that together with a little bit of healthy competi-tion and get us girls fighting over prizes and shopping and it all makes for a fun auction to be held on the big day.

Pity the poor fellow who gets in between two girls fighting for the same prize!

Phil Broome of Urbane Prop-erty Agents at Paddington is that guy. Look out Phil!

Kicking off after the fashion parade itself, Phil will bring his auctioneer expertise to the stage auctioning some fantas-tic prizes to lucky winners.

Another big thanks to Daniel Argent and the team at Urban Property for coming on board as a Gold Sponsor for this years event. Thank you!

So remember girls, take it easy on Phil during the auc-tion but I can’t wait to see what great fun it will be!

The Boys are Back in Town Faster than a speeding bul-let, a talent for spotting a thirsty girl from three tables away and able to wear a waiter’s apron like nobody’s business, these boys are our lifesavers.

And guess what? They are Dads and volunteers from our school community who each year, spend their time and considerable efforts making sure our ladies glass-es are topped up and we want for nothing.

Just another reason to love our school community!

Coordinator Nathan and the team do a lot of set up before the big event to make sure everything drinks related runs smoothly and all those bottles of bubbles are on ice and ready to arrive at your table chilled to perfection.

A big, big thank you to all our waitstaff for volunteering their time, we would be quite liter-ally lost without you, or at the very least, quite parched.

Be gentle ladies!

The Fashion Parade is sorted, the afternoon tea is ready to go, you’re all frocked up...now to the important bit, bubbles!

Don’t worry ladies, our team of superheros have finished training and are ready to go.

See you there!

Tasty Little Prize Correction We have so many wonderful prizes donated to Fashions on Parade each year, it’s hard to keep up with the fantastic support from our local com-munity.

So we felt terrible to find that we had misrepresented one of our sponsors fantastic prizes a little wrong.

Terrible, I know, but we are here to make it right.

In our last newsletter, we noted that Pizza Capers at Enoggera had donated a $600 prize voucher.

We only then went and forgot the other two $300 vouchers that they are donating as well!

There was just too much pizza goodness and perhaps I was dream-ing about the delicious pizzas availa-ble from the team at Pizza Capers at Enoggera.

Basically I heard $600 and pizza in the same sentence and pretty much slipped right into dream mode.

Now I am told that Darren from Pizza Capers Enoggera is a friendly guy who will forgive me for this little error but just to be sure, I will probably make a few trips to the team and make sure relationships aren’t irreparably damaged,

I’ll probably buy pizza on these visits just to make sure, it’s just the kind of gal I am.

So to be clear, Darren and the team at Pizza Capers Enoggera have very kindly donated a $600 voucher AND two $300 vouchers.

Pizza and this level of generosity, couldn't it get any better? I think not!

Thanks guys!

A Final Thank You for Fabulous People You’ve heard us mention over and over again the great support we get from local sponsors but there really is a lot that goes into getting Fashions on Parade up and running to the high standards that it is has reached over the last 12 years. There are so many people to thank, including our major sponsors. The best thing that we can do is to support all sponsors where we can and keep our local business thriving.

Also thank you to our wonderful school community, all the Mums, Dads, Grandparents and Carers who make St Finbarr’s such a wonderful place not only for our children but to build lifelong friendships built on a shared focus on our school.

Can’t wait to do it all again next year. Bring on 2016!
